What inspired you to write your first book?

I had a bunch of ideas floating around in my head, so I decided to put them down on paper. And then they unfolded into stories.

Who is your favorite author and what is it that really strikes you about their work?

Lurlene McDaniel because her books are heart-wrenching, but they're tragedies that are possible in real life.

What is your favourite theme/genre to write about?

Teen Fiction

Do you see writing as a career?

No, but my mom is trying to convince me to Minor in Journalism.

Do you use real-life facts based on true stories?

Sometimes. Like the jet skiing between Jake and Sam? That happened between my best friend and me.

Did you ever think you'd be, where you are right now?

No. I never thought my stories would become this popular.

What advice would you give to people who "run out of creativity" when writing?

Leave the story for a few days, weeks even. Let the ideas come naturally. Don't try to stress yourself out.

Do you ever suffer from writer’s block? If so, what do you do about it?

Yes. I walk away and let my mind wander. Eventually something comes to me.

Do you have any advice for other writers?

Keep going. You can only get better!

Anything fun about yourself you want your fans to know?

My favorite animal is a polar bear.
