Outside POV
*At the Garrison*

You sat there, at your desk counting down the seconds until class ended, your eyes occasionally glancing up at the clock as you completed your work. As you handed in your completed assignment, the bell rang. You quickly swiped the books off your desk, into your hand and walked out the door.

You had a space simulation that day, you would meet your new teammates for the first time. You prayed they weren't jerks. As you dashed through the hall, you bump into a tall Cuban boy, reading the sheet of paper posted on the wall with the teams listed.

"Sorry." You apologized. He helped you up, and you realized he had another boy with him.

"I'm Hunk." The other boy introduced himself, extending out his arm. Shaking his hand, you introduced yourself.
"[Y/N],"

"Oh wow! You're on our team!" The taller boy noticed.
"I'm Lance!" He introduces himself.

"Lovely..." You mumbled, under your breath.

Lance leans up against the wall, and smiles. You raise your eyebrows in confusion.

"Tell me something," He starts, feeling a bit uncomfortable at how close to you he's standing, you start to back away slowly. "Are you Google? Cause you've got everything I'm looking for."
He winks.

Hunk facepalms, clearly embarrassed for his friend.

You make a face that shows you're uncomfortable, and start to speak.

"Nice try, lover boy. But I'm not interested."

He frowns. You notice a shorter boy walk over.

Lance and Hunk introduce themselves. The smaller boy introduced himself as
"Pidge Gunderson".
When he walks over to you, and looks at you shocked, as if he's known you all his life. As he introduces himself, you blush slightly. But you start to notice how he sort of looks familiar. You think back to Matt, who was your friend before he went missing on the Kerberos mission. You try to recall if Matt had a brother, but all you can remember was his sister, Katie who was about your age. Then you think back to Shiro, your brother. How much you miss him. How their probably either lost in space, or worse, dead. You shake the thought from your head, and introduce yourself.

*Time Skip*

At first in the simulation you were doing pretty well. You liked being a copilot, and navigating.... Until Lance decided to act like a show-off flying the "spacecraft" with one hand. You told him repeatedly to stop, but no one ever listens to you, except Pidge. He did everything as instructed, and was really good at it. It felt like you had a telepathic connection, how well you were working together.

You started to realize how much he looked like Matt and Katie, again. You remembered hanging out with them sometimes, when Shiro would go over there to talk to Mr. Holt, how you would usually go with. How you three would have in-depth conversations about scientific theories, and play videogames, and how Shiro was always shocked with all you could come up with at your ages. You wanted to go on the Kerberos mission with them, so did Katie, but since you were a few years younger that Matt, you were considered "too young".
You remember Matt's nickname for Katie, how he always called her it.... PIDGE! Everything finally clicked. You glanced back over at him. Or her? You weren't entirely sure. You told yourself that is was probably just a coincidence, but you couldn't shake the thought. She... He? Was even wearing the glasses like the ones Matt used to wear!

Towards the end, Hunk got motion sick, and Lance finally crashed. You got scolded by Iverson for being "distracted" which you were...

After, you quickly rush to your dorm. You get out your laptop and decide to email Katie.

"Dear Katie,"

You start, you erased what you wrote, and shut your laptop.

"It's stupid" You tell yourself.
"It's probably a coincidence!" You lie.

You spend the next few weeks, trying to make as little eye contact as possible, but you couldn't help but stare. That WAS the Pidge you knew, and you were going to prove it.
