"[Y/N] Shirogane, everyone, the new princess of Altea!"

No matter how many times I had heard Coran say it, it still surprised me. But, there I was, on stage in front of all of Earth, and the foreign crowd that had gathered on the planet for the event. I was to be Allura's legacy, and I was to continue her work. That was absolutely terrifying to me.

Yet, I proceeded further to the front of the stage, leaning down slightly and allowing Coran to place the tiara upon my head. He gave my hand a quick squeeze before allowing me the microphone.

"Ladies and gentlemen of the lovely crowd we have here today." I sighed. "We are gathered here, not only in celebration, but in remembrance of those who have fallen, and who have risked their lives for us to get here. Especially our princess, whom is the reason you and I are breathing right in this moment.

Look around. See the green grass, and the clear skies, and the children playing in the field? See the trees, and the animals, and your friends and family? Breathe in the air, run your fingers through your hair, smile. Think about how rare and beautiful it is that we even exist. — We went through a hell of a lot to get here, to be safe. And now look at us: Different species and civilizations among one another, in harmony. No more fighting, no more hate.

I promise, as chosen by the princess that I will do my absolute best, and nothing less, to ensure that this peace will last. But, of course, I will do none of it alone. Because it is these paladins, my friends... My family.... that are the reason that we can all be safe. I may be the one wearing this crown, but it is all of us who made and will continue to make a difference. Just as it was with Princess Allura." I gestured to the paladins behind me who all gave reassuring smiles.

"I'm not going to lie and say I know exactly what I'm doing, but I will say that I have a plan. I will try and continue the work of the princess, and ensure that this peace is lasting, making this a better place for all of us, and for our children." I smiled. "Who's with me?"

I took the crowds cheer as sign to continue. "I plan to be back and forth between Earth and Altea, and to keep the peace and goodwill both places, as well as the rest of the universe. Of course, I am one person, so that will not be easy... Good thing I have a team, right?" I gestured for the paladins to come foward.

The ceremony ended hours later, wrapping up with the team and I signing autographs, signing documents, greeting people, etcetera. We were all exhausted by its wrap up, fueled by only excitement for the future, and determination. — So, the night ended with the eight of us at Lance's family's house, pulling out foldable chairs and tables onto the lawn to accommodate for Lance's family, us, and the others that made their way over from the Garrison, because a dining room table surely would not work.

The night went well. We set things up quickly through bland conversation, but topics changed as soon as his mother asked us to help her get the plates from the kitchen to bring out. Once everything was in place of the table, the food was all brought out and the others (The MFE pilots, Axca, and Romelle), we entered more interesting conversation. With honorable mentions such as Acxa and Veronica's hopeless flirting, Romelle and Hunk's budding friendship, Shiro and Adam being disasters, James being an asshole, and Katie being an adorable dork; nothing could compare to the moment when Lance got out of his chair towards the end of the night.

"Where are you going?" Keith asked.

"Nowhere." He replied. I knew that smirk. He was planning something. — Sure enough he got on his knee in front of Keith, and looked up.

"W- What are you—" Keith stuttered, the hopeless idiot he is. Lance just smiled and retrieved a box from his coat pocket.

"I thought for a long time what I was going to say at this moment, but ended up writing a novel... So I'm just going to shorten it to: I can't imagine a world without you. Let's conquer the world together." He laughed slightly although his face was noticeably pink. "As hopeless and corny as that may sound."
