Your POV

We immediately get up and run. I dash to my room, quickly slip on my paladin armor, and run to meet the rest of the crew.

"Two Galra ship's have been detected near a peaceful planet, and are trying to destroy it. We need you to split up, search the ships, and take out the Galra." Allura anxiously explains.

"Ok,"

Allura instructs us to get to our lions.
I follow instructions, and sprint to my lion, and climb in.

I fly to the planet, we shoot at the ship's for a while while we wait for further instruction from Allura.

"Ok Paladins, NOW you split up. [Y/N], Shiro, and Keith take the first ship. Pidge, Hunk, and Lance take the second ship!" She instructs.

I follow behind Shiro and Keith. We get out of our lions, and sneak in.
I grab my Bayard, which then shifts into a katana. I slice at any Galra soldiers I come across.
We duck behind some kind of ledge to regroup.

"Ok, we're going to split up so we can take down the ship faster." Shiro instructs us. We nod.
"I want you two to stay close to each other. I'm experienced, I'm fine by myself, but I want you two to watch each other's backs."

"Ok, stay safe." I sigh.

"Be careful." Keith adds.

"I will," He smiles. And just like that, he's gone.

Keith and I start taking out Galra soldiers towards the back of the ship, standing back to back.
We watch out for each other, making sure the other doesn't get hit. It's good to know we work well together, I'm glad we're cool now.

"Huh, looks like we make a good team after all." He laughs.

"Yeah," I smile, taking out another Galra.

After I take out the last Galra in sight, we sit cross-legged on the floor, trying to catch out breath.

"Good job," He praises.

I smile, "Thanks for having my back out there."

"No problem. Thanks for having mine." He adds. "I'm glad we're friends now."

We sit there, silent for a while, until we hear Shiro scream.
"GUYS! LOOK OUT!"

We immediately stand up, weapons at the ready. A Galra soldier comes rushing at Keith, with out thinking twice, I do the first thing that comes to mind; I jump in front of him to block the attack.

Blood. That's the last thing I see. Blood oozing from the stab wound in my stomach. Blood, a pool of it under my almost lifeless body. I'm not dead, I don't think. I can still hear muffled panicked voices, of my brother, and new best friend. I feel my energy drain, my eyes start to get heavy. Slowly the pain settles in, and I can feel the stinging pain, the taste of blood in my mouth. I feel horrible, but I know I did a good thing.

Keith's POV

The Galra charges toward me, I start to pull back my weapon, but I know I won't be strong enough to take him out, he's about twice my size. I could never kill him, without getting hurt. I squeeze my eyes shut, and brace myself for impact, but it never comes. I open my eyes, I see [Y/N], throw herself in front of me.

"No!" I scream, in disbelief. I'm too late. She's flung backwards on the ground, a blade in her stomach. Blood creating a pool underneath her body, the color draining from her face.

I look over and see her katana, dug into the side of the Galra soldier who nearly killed me, the Galra soldier barely clinging to life.

She saved my life.

"Nobody hurts her, and gets away with it in front of me!" I scream, as I pull back my sword, finishing off the Galra.

"Is that it?" I ask Shiro, worried.

"Yeah, that's all." He says anxiously.

I run over to [Y/N], who looks pitiful lying in a pool of blood.

"Contact the others," I say to Shiro. "We need an emergency pick-up."

He nods, and contacts the other Paladins.
"Paladins, this is Shiro. We need an emergency pick-up, QUICKLY!"

"What's going on?" Lance asks.

"It's [Y/N], she got stabbed. A Galra was charging at Keith, and she risked her life to kill it, before it killed one of us." He adds.

I run over to the dead Galra, and rip a price of fabric off of his clothing underneath his armor.

I then run back to [Y/N], remove the blade from the wound and use the fabric like a bandage to stop the bleeding. I feel her pulse. Her heartbeat is there but it's slowing down.

"She's alive, but just barely!" I yell into my helmet, "Hurry up."

"We're coming!" Pidge replies anxiously.

I grab her hand, "Don't worry, it's ok."

I see her eyes open a little, she faintly smiles.

Shiro crouches beside her.

"I-" Her raspy voice struggles to form a sentence. "I love you guys." She whispers, before closing her eyes again.
