*Klaus' POV*
Violet, Sunny and I had strolled to the beach so we could find the best debris from the storm the night before. This island was horribly boring and nothing here was interesting. We weren't allowed to pursue our hobbies because it would be 'rocking the boat'. We couldn't keep anything interesting that appeared on the island for stupid and complicated reasons that the island's facilitator made up. "I don't want to rock the boat," Violet complained, studying a large birdcage, "But I miss my inventions." I nodded in agreement, telling my sisters about how there was nothing to read except my own commonplace notebook as I looked over a fancy typewriter.

"I miss friends." Sunny said to us as she picked up a piece of metal and eyed it suspiciously. I especially missed them. Duncan was a great friend and even disguised himself as me to run laps for us while we studied for stupid tests. His triplet sister dressed as Violet, which was honestly weird since I had a giant crush on her and she was trying to dress like my sister. "I miss them too." Violet whispered.

"Hey!" A somewhat deep voice called from the distance.
"Help us!" A more feminine voice called. They both sounded familiar, but I couldn't quite place it. Violet pointed into the distance where two figures were waving their arms around from atop a large cube of what looked like a ton of books tied together. We ran to the cube as the figures of Duncan and Isadora became clearer.

*Violet's POV*
"Peaches!" I yelled. During the first eleven days at Prufrock Prep, I occasionally called Duncan that as a term of endearment in private. I don't know why... It just kind of suited him. As he leapt from the raft, I immediately hugged his neck tightly, but just gently enough so that I wasn't strangling the poor guy. Klaus and Isadora hugged eachother tightly as well. I pulled away as my face turned bright red, and so did his. "You have no idea how much I missed you." He said to me and my siblings, although it was mainly aimed at me. I nodded in agreement as we looked up at the cube. Duncan and Klaus climbed onto the raft, taking Sunny before they helped Isadora and me on. "Kit and Quigley." I whispered in disbelief as their unconscious bodies lay before us. Isadora nodded sadly. "She said she was coming to find you three and we not only couldn't let her go alone in such a condition, but we also needed to see you again," she explained, "but right now, we have to worry about Kit." I nodded softly as I felt Duncan set his hand on mine.

"Violet? May I speak with you in private?" He asked me quietly. I nodded as we jumped off the cube and walked a little ways so they didn't hear our conversation. He took a deep breath before continuing. "I like you a lot." I smiled warmly at him as I twiddled my fingers, "I like you a lot too. Why do you seen so sad about it though?"

" Quigley is alive... Obviously you know that. "
"What did he tell you?"
" So it's true; you guys did kiss. "
"No. It's not like that, Peaches."
" Well then what is it like?"

He was red with confusion and anger and insecurity and I hated seeing him like this. We were inches apart from eachother and I was trying to think of anything to ease his tension. It hurt my heart to see him in such a distraught state. I couldn't imagine what was going through his head when I told him I liked him a lot, but as I told him I imagined it was him that I was kissing, I knew exactly what was going through my head. Some might call it lust, but I called it the death of me. Duncan was still trying to process that I preferred him over his brother, and the death of me knew just how to pull him out of his thoughts. I sat one hand on the sand on his left, since I was sitting on his right, and closed the distance between us, not caring who was looking. I could tell he was immediately pulled out of his thoughts as soon as my lips hit his because I felt him put one arm around my waist and the other on my knee as he kissed back with enthusiasm. We pulled apart after maybe ten seconds and his face was bright red. I assumed mine was too as I took a sip of the extremely sweet coconut cordial from my seashell canteen, wincing as the strong substance hit my tongue and my head began to spin slightly. Duncan laughed a bit, "So I take it that isn't very good?" He joked. I nodded, "Yeah, but it's the only thing here to drink since that dickwad Ishmael won't let me build a water filtration system," I replied dryly. Duncan chuckled since I had never sworn in front of him.
