*Final installment of More Than Wonderful. (4/4)*
*Violet's POV*

"Justice Strauss!" I said happily, "It feels like it's been so long!"

" Oh it really does! I'm so sorry, Children, that you had to go through everything with Count Olaf. But he's locked away now... " She replied, wrapping us into a tight hug.
"He is." Klaus said softly.

She pulled away from us and smiled. Her eyes were sincere and her smile was caring. She was really sorry for what she did, even though it was absolutely not her fault. "I still have enough room in my empty little house for three resourceful children. Violet, there's still plenty of room for inventing. Klaus, I've been keeping those law books nice and clean in case you wanted to continue your research. And, Sunny,  there's always hard vegetables growing in the garden."

"Yuha me resours!" Sunny shrieked. I explained that she meant "You had me at resourceful!"

"Would you like it if I adopted you?" Justice Strauss asked with a big smile.
"Of course!" I answered.
"We would like nothing more!" Klaus added.
"Happy!" Sunny agreed.

"You're... You're leaving?" Isadora asked worriedly.
"We'll be right next door, Isadora," Klaus comforted, "We could talk out the windows if we wanted to."
" I guess that's true...  It won't be the same, though... "
"It's not like it doesn't take seven steps to get from one door to the other..." I added.
"And the inventive genius here could use her skills to make a gate in the fence in the backyard." Duncan added with a smile.

I blushed at Duncan's compliment. How was he so damn smooth? "I wouldn't say genius..." I corrected modestly.

~*~

It was a hot spring morning and I was working on the gate inbetween the two houses. Sunny recently got into cooking and she homemade lemonade. It was sweet and sour and perfect. Thud! Thud! Thud! My hammer went on the nails. It was a nice sound; it reminded me of the good old days when I invented for fun rather than survival...

"Hello, Love. I wanted to see if you needed any help or wanted any company." Duncan said behind me. I smiled at him as I turned around.

"I'd love someone to hang out with! Would you mind handing me that hinge?"
"Of course. Maybe we can finish it soon with both of us working on it?"
"I bet we might just be able to..."

He handed me the hinge and I lined it up before hammering the nail into it. We continued the process until there were three large hinges attached to the wooden fence gate. I had already attached the two way lock to the fence. "Can you help me hold this up in place, Duncan?" I asked, gesturing to the gate. He nodded and picked it up without my help and held it to the perfect adjustment. I fixed it into place and my project was finally finished!

"Thank you!" I practically screamed. Duncan laughed at my enthusiasm.
"Well, this does help me see you more often, so I like it."

I blushed. "Maybe we could head out to dinner later? Just the two of us?"
"Violet Baudelaire! Are you inviting me on a date?" He asked playfully.
"No!" I said, clearly joking, "It's a trap!" I leaned up and placed a kiss on his cheek. "I'll be over to get you at six."

I walked back into the house to plan a nice evening...

*Klaus' POV*

"Hey, uh Isadora? Can... Can I ask you something?" I stammered.
"Of course! Ask away!" She replied, shooting me one of her award winning smiles.
"I was wondering if.... Uh maybe you'd... You know. Like to go out to dinner tonight?" I asked, stuttering horribly.
"I'd love to go on a date with you! Where to?"
" I don't know... I didn't think I would get this far... "
