*Klaus' POV*

"Quigley! You're alive!" Duncan exclaimed as him and Isadora embraced their lost brother. "Where have you been? How did you find us?"
" It's a long story. " He said sheepishly.
"Well, you can tell us on the way." Violet said, smiling at us. We understood what she meant.
"On the way where?" Quigley asked.
"Like we're gonna let you stay in the Orphan Shack by yourself when there's an empty bed in our dorm room!" Isadora stated. Quigley looked at her, then Duncan, then Sunny and me, then Violet.
"Only if it's next to hers," he smirked.

Violet laughed as if he had told a joke. I think he got the memo. "Sorry for trying." He muttered. Duncan to her hand in his protectively. "Wait a second. What were these drawings?" He asked, holding out the two photos Carmelita had drawn of Isadora and me and Violet and Duncan. We all blushed at the sight of them.
"This isn't the best time to explain it," I said sheepishly. Quigley was glaring at me and I bet it has something to do with the fact that there was a heart drawn above his sister and me.

"A man named Jacques Snicket told me that Prufrock Prep was a sort of sub-headquarters for the organization he works for. He's essentially been my guardian." Quigley explained.
"So you didn't even know we would be here?" Isadora asked.
"I'm so happy you were, though!"
" It's good to have you back, Quigley. " Duncan added.
Quigley sighed. "It's good to be back. Sorry for the whole... Hitting on your girlfriend thing..."

"You made her uncomfortable."
" I said I was sorry!"
"Just never do it again, and you'll hear no objections from me."
"And if you do, you're gonna get slapped because Dunclet is my OTP!" Isadora noted. She made up a 'ship name' for them.
"So which class do you have?" Violet and I asked at the same time.
"Um neither of the classes you listed, actually. Mr. Havens teaches micobiology, but somehow finds a way to relate everything to political conspiracy theories."
" I'm so sorry for you. " Duncan said.
"Why?"
" Because Carmelita is transferring to that class. You'll be stuck with her and her nasty remarks while she pokes you with a stick. "

Duncan and Violet had told us about how Carmelita sat directly behind them and would poke them with a stick. Violet and Duncan each had a pocketfull of rude notes she passed them. Carmelita was probably just jealous of them and the fact that they actually had people who liked them.

We caught up a bit longer until it was time to go to the violin recital. There were two seats in two spots and several ones near the front. Nowhere was there a group of five chairs. "I can sit alone with Sunny." I suggested.
"There's no need-" Isadora began.
"-I think that is a great idea. Izzie, have you written any new couplets? I'd love to hear them, little sis." Quigley interrupted, still glaring at me.
"I'm only younger than you by five minutes! And I was hoping to sit next to Klaus..." She defended.
"Like hell I'm letting you sit alone with a boy! Duncan, how are you okay with this?"
" Klaus is a good guy! Have a little faith in your triplets' judgement. He's been a perfect gentleman to our sister as far as I know. "

Quigley was still glaring at me. Violet suggested that she sit with Sunny, Isadora and Duncan sit together, and then I sit with Quigley so we can get to know eachother personally. I did not want to sit alone with him. He had that look in his eye that made me scared for my damn life. I spied Carmelita sneaking out with a small group of friends, leaving just enough seats open. I pointed them out and our problem seemed to vanish until we tried to come up with seating over here.

I tried to sit next to Isadora, but Quigley tried to sit in the seat between us. "I just wanted to read Isadora's new couplets." He kept insisting. He gave no further explanation of why he'd want to sit there so bad. We decided on this.

Me (Klaus), Isadora, Quigley, Duncan, Violet (with Sunny in her lap)

Violet and Duncan were talking softly and holding hands, and I really wanted to hold Isadora's hand, but Quigley was watching me like a hawk. What on earth could he imagine me doing to her? I'm twelve; it's not like I would ever try anything scandalous... I can barely talk to her without stuttering!

I think Isadora sensed how tense this made me and she comfortingly held my hand. God why is she so perfect? She gave me one of her perfect little smiles that made my brain malfunction. "It's okay. I won't let my brother tear us apart. He can try, but I won't let him." She whispered, placing a soft kiss on my cheek. I began to quietly stutter as my words tripped over the other.
"I um I'm I-I... thank y-you, Is-Izzie."
"Besides, you're too adorable of a fish to put back in the sea." She added, tweaking my nose and resting her head on my shoulder. My heart was beating a mile a minute as she fell asleep. I'm surprised she could, with the combined sound of the horrible violin recital and my loudly thumping heart. Why did she have to be so perfect? I lightly pushed a piece of hair behind her ear and got lost in my own thoughts.

*Violet's POV*

"Are you sure you're not mad over your brother flirting with me?" I asked. Sunny, Isadora and Quigley were asleep and Klaus seemed lost in thought.
"You rejected him, so it doesn't matter much to me." He said with a sincere smile. I smiled back and eased into his arms, one being slung around my shoulders.
"You're so easygoing... Just one more reason to love you." I said in soft contentment before I even knew what I was saying. I sprang out of his arms as blush made my whole face bright red.
"Did you say..."
I nodded sheepishly. It wasn't that I didn't mean it; I did; it was just that it sounded insane. I met him a week ago and I'm in love with him? It sounds like some sort of fantasy tale gone wrong. I covered my face with my hands to hide my embarrassment. He took my hands off my face and balled them up in his.
"If being in love is embarrassing, then I'm humiliated..." He said softly. His handsome green eyes were sincere and he wore a shy smile on his lips. Lips that I suddenly wanted so badly. I crashed my lips onto his passionately and he kissed me back. I was so happy I could combust! My first kiss. My first boyfriend. My first love. Yay me!

We finally pulled apart from the kiss and I could barely breathe. My breath was going haywire and my heart was fluttering like a frustrated butterfly. "Goodness where did that come from?" I asked myself. Duncan was blushing like crazy with a big dopey grin plastered on his face.
"I love you, Violet."
"I love you too, Duncan."
