As soon as the cannon went off, Jake's body burst into flames and disappeared.
"Oh my gosh..." said May, tears starting to run down her cheeks. Elijah's mouth hung open, but quivered slightly.
They barely noticed the trumpets, but they began to pay attention when they heard,
"Ladies and Gentlemen, may I present the victors of the 84th annual hunger games"
A hovercraft appeared suddenly and a ladder came down to May and Elijah. When they grabbed it, an electric current coursed through their bodies, freezing them in place so they didn't fall.
As they were brought into the hovercraft and it began to fly away, nobody seemed to notice the cloud of smoke following them.
