Tessa
It was exactly one week since my first day of school and I woke up with the same nervous feeling.
I didn't know what this day would be like. Was Jake gonna start this challenge in school or would he wait until classes were over?
What if he humiliated me in public by doing something stupid? He didn't seem like the kind of guy that'd get embarrassed quickly. That didn't mean I wasn't embarrassed quickly either.
I was still the new kid and I wanted to lay low and not attract too much negative attention. Or any attention for that matter.
Was it too late to back out?
Probably. Then I guess I didn't have much of a choice.
With a fake sense of determination I hopped out of bed and gave a disappointed look at the contents of my closet. If I was gonna get humiliated, at least I wanted to look cute.
I went for the black dress with big pink flowers on them that I'd bought last weekend. It was very cute and girly, yet casual. Exactly my style. I topped it off with a fuzzy baby pink cardigan and some ankle boots because it was getting chilly outside.
Last weekend had been fun, even the party hadn't been that bad. I met a few more people that I recognised from my classes and laughed at people that were playing 'truth or dare'.
"You look cute." Aunt Maggie said. She had put her short honey colored hair in a tiny ponytail.
A smile appeared on my face. The little compliment had made my morning a little better, even though the nervous flutter in my stomach wouldn't go away. Not even breakfast or talking with Lily could get rid of that stupid feeling.
When I got to school, everything seemed normal. I didn't know what I'd been expecting though. It's not like Jake would organise a parade for me or anything.
But what would he do?
My worries got interrupted by a familiar voice.
"Good morning, Tessa." Brandon greeted me. He was wearing dark blue jeans, a shirt and a jeans jacket.
"Hey! How was your weekend? I didn't see you at the party." I asked Brandon. I desperately wanted to have a conversation with someone so I wouldn't think about Jake's challenge.
"Eh no... My mom wouldn't let me." Brandon looked at his feet, I could see the moment where his cheeks turned a faint pink tinge.
"Aww." I cooed. "You didn't miss much though." I patted his shoulder, resisting the urge to pinch his cheeks again. He'd be a great fit for my teddy bear collection.
"So how was your first week of school?" Brandon asked. He probably wanted to steer the conversation in a different direction and I didn't blame him.
How had my first week been? I'd met some amazing people, made out with a stranger who happened to be the biggest bad boy player in school and then procedeed to challenge him. No big deal.
"It was eventful." I answered. It seemed like the most appropriate answer. I could tell Brandon wanted to ask more but he decided against it. I must've been such a mystery to him.
We said our goodbyes early because my locker was on the other side of the hall.
I automatically started smiling when I noticed Grace was waiting at my locker.
"Morning! You're wearing your new dress. Ahh it's so cute!" Grace greeted me. She was wearing a bright green top with a high waisted jeans shorts and topped it off with an oversized sheer black and green cardigan. As usual, she looked like a beautiful fairy.
