Tessa

"He stayed over?" Grace gasped. We were both sitting on Kate's bed and for some reason the topic went to Jake so I was filling them in on the latest events.

"Wait. He slept with you? Naughty girl." Kate said with a mischievous glint in her eyes.

"No! Well, yes but not in that way. We both kinda fell asleep. Accidentally. Plus, he had his clothes on the entire time." I said while looking as red as a lobster.

"He had his clothes on but you didn't?" Kate teased.

"I was wearing pajamas." I tried to keep my voice as neutral as possible despite feeling extremely uncomfortable talking about this.

In theory it did sound bad. I'd technically slept with a boy in my bed.

"Alright, we'll stop teasing you." Grace grinned. She was painting my nails in a baby blue color.

"Thank you." I sighed in relief.

"So that's all that happened?" Grace asked. She almost seemed disappointed.

"He did make me breakfast in bed." I grinned. It had been so delicious and cute.

"Really?" Grace gasped.

"Yeah, it was a heartshaped egg. So cute." I gushed.

"Damn, I wish Matt would do something as thoughtful as that." Kate moped. She was playing with a strand of her blonde curly hair.

"You should double date. Guys see everything as a competition so Matt will start putting in more effort." Grace explained.

"Yes! That's such a great idea! Tessa, the guys are going on a date with us." Kate exclaimed.

"What?" I asked in horror. "I don't think Jake's up for that. He always picks the dates." I tried to explain. How was he going to act romantc when there were other people involved? It would be extremely awkward.

"Ease him into it. Initiate a date with just the two of you and afterwards you can lure him into a double date. It's perfect!" Kate said. I could tell she was getting enthusiastic about this idea but it was so frightening for me.

When she noticed my hesitance she pulled my arm slightly.

"Please? I asked Jill before but she said, and I quote 'fuck no'." Kate pouted.

"She said that? Rude." Grace shook her head.

"Yeah but she didn't mean it like that. Well she did but, eh. That's just her." Kate tried to explain but neither of us really got what she was saying.

"Oh by the way, feel like coming to her birthday party?" Kate asked no one in particular. I didn't respond because I figured Grace would go with her.

"Jill and her delinquent friends? I'll pass." Grace scrunched her nose.

"Tess? Please please please? Jake will be there." Kate pouted.

"Fine." I sighed. I wish I could tell people 'fuck no' but I couldn't imagine ever being that assertive.

"Yay! So about that double date..." Kate grinned.

"Whoa there, first she needs to initiate a date." Grace interfered.

"But how? What do I do?" I didn't know this place very well and Jake had probably seen it all.

"I don't know, just pick one of your favorite places here. Like the park or your bed." Grace chuckled.

Kate stopped what she was doing and looked at Grace before she burst out in laughter.

"Hi Jake, let's go on a date." Kate said with an extremely obnoxious girly voice.
