Tiana

With each passing moment, the tension in the room skyrocketed. I was feeling a little but nauseous so, I leaned against the door. Closing my eyes, I started to count from one to ten.

"Tiana and Tristan, are dating you just have to accept that." Martha said again, breaking the silence.

My eyes snapped open, brushing my hair, from my face. I looked up.

"I won't." Cathy said, her lips trembled. "How could you Tiana? After all that man has done to our family, you're taking his side."

"I'm taking nobody's side, and furthermore I'm not apart of your family."

"Of course you aren't. Is that why you're spreading your legs for him?" She retorted, cheekily. My cheeks bloomed in embarrassment. "..... or is it because of the billions of dollars, you heard about. Which one is it?"

I kept my mouth, shut. In fear that I would say, something I would deeply regret.

"I trusted you! I thought we were friends Tiana!"

"We are friends."

"Friends?" She scoffed. "If we were friends you wouldn't be allowing him to fuck you!"

"What the hell does that have to do with anything? Who I fuck is none of your business Cathy!"

"It is my business!" Cathy shouted. She took a deep breath. ".... you know what, forget it. I have better things to do, than to be here wasting my time on a two timing, backstabbing whore."

Martha gasped, her eyes widen in shock.

"I will never accept your relationship, so you can choose. It's either me or Tristan. You can't have the both of us."

"I choose Tristan, and you know what, I'll keep on choosing him over and over again."

"Right.... you know what Tiana. I just don't care. Do whatever the fuck you want.... I want you out of my apartment. I already packed your shit.... just take your stuff and get the hell outta my life!"

"Cathy! You don't mean that!" Martha said, sadly.

"You know what, I was gonna leave anyways."

"So that's it you're gonna just, leave."

"Yes Cathy, I'm just gonna leave.

"I've always been a good friend."

At the sound of that. A dam inside of me burst open. "When exactly? When I'm having my god awful headaches? Tiana please go to the hospital. Have you ever offered to come with me? No. Have you ever stayed home when I'm ill? No because you rather be out partying and jerking off some nameless guy in a fucking dark corner!"

"That's a fucking lie!"

"You get drunk, I'm the one who drives you home. You host a huge party, I'm the one who cleans up. You want something to eat, I'm the one who shops. You have your little fights at the bar for stealing someone else's man for the night, I'm the one who fucking dives in and save your ass. You forget to do your homework, I'm the one who ends up doing the research. You...... know, this is good for both of us. I don't have to deal with your day to day shit and you don't have to deal, with a two timing backstabbing whore."

Cathy grimaced, when I mimicked what she said, word for word.

"Fucking slut! I hope you contract an STD!"

I snorted a laugh. "I won't stoop to your level."

She kicked, her feet angrily, underneath the sheets. "At least I'm not spreading my legs for cash. Have you even stopped to think about the consequences.?"

"Believe whatever you must. Well then, as much as I enjoy this conversation, I have got to go." I turned on my heels.

Curling my fingers, around the knob, I opened the door. "Just know you're the one that's going to regret this, not me. I was always a good friend." With that, I slid out the door.

Wrapping my arms, around my body, I shuffled down the bustling hall.
