"Jesus, this place is full!" Carolyn said, incredulously.

Pulling my blazer, closer I finished zipped it up. I never wanted to attend the stupid, part that was being held on the beach, but Tristan dragged me here anyways.

My skin, started to itch when I saw the amount of people loitering, on the beach. God i hate crowds. The thought of staying here until midnight, sicken me. Tristan laced his fingers with mine. I stared down at our entwined hands.

"Come on, let's go! I'm suddenly craving a bloody Mary!" Stacey squealed.

Tristan tugged on my hand. "Come on."

Even though, I was hesitant. I still followed behind him. The sand, was warm and squishy underneath my feet. Trying my hardest to distract myself, from the weird sensation. I focused on the sound of waves crashing to shore.

The patrons that stopped by to view the fireworks, were settled on a piece of blanket. They were all laughing. The buzz of conversation, was getting louder as we made our way over to the bar.

Tristan released, his hold on my hand. I opened my mouth to protest. Smiling, he placed his hand on the small of my back. My heart melted at, that simple gesture.

When we got to the bar, I immediately sat around one of the many bar stools. Tristan stood against me, tapping his fingers against the bar counter.

"What can I get you all tonight?"

My head snapped up, at that voice. Brandon! What was he doing here. Our eyes met and a smile slide across his lips. It's been a while, since I've seen him.

The last time I saw him, he was standing in the sitting room, of the apartment I once shared with Cathy. He quickly took everyone's order, before tuning to me.

"My my my, I wonder what wind blew you here." Brandon said.

"It's good to see you too." I slowly, fingered my handbag straps.

Brandon glanced at Tristan and mine, entwined hands in question. I acted like I didn't see the look of inquisition on his face. "Can I have a bottle of water?"

"Sure." Grabbing a bottle of water from the fridge. He pushed it towards me. Another couple called him on the other side of the counter. "Well that's my cue. Save a dance for me." He winked at me, before stalking off.

"Who's the hottie?" Rebecca asked.

"His names Brandon." I replied.

"Ex-boyfriend?"

"Nope. Just a friend." I said, keeping my answers short.

Rebecca took a sip of her Gin and tonic. "You're pretty popular."

"Is that suppose to be a compliment?"

"Rebecca." Carolyn said in warning.

Rebecca snapped her mouth close, her eyes pierced mine. The rage behind those hazel eyes of hers, was malicious. A chill ran through my body. She didn't like me and I didn''t like her.

We're pretty much on the same boat. Opening my bottle of spring, water I took a sip. I then spun around on the stool. My eyes, shifted to the makeshift dancefloor and stage. People were bumping and grinding to one of those small time bands. I moved my feet, to the sound of the heavy drum rolls and guitar strumming.

"So how did, you both meet?" Jessie asked, breaking the silence.

"Can we please get comfortable, before diving into the history of little Miss Moffett and Tom tucker?" Rebecca asked.

"No need to be a bitch." Stacey said.

Rebecca flipped her the bird.

I just noticed, we'll soon be transported back to the present. I also realized.... only thirty chapters or twenty left until this book is fully completed. Damn. I wonder what I'm gonna do after I post the epilogue. :(
