Tiana
Because I had the air ventilator in my mouth. Tristan and I didn't say anything to each other. He just held me, until the doctor strutted into the room. When the doctor approached the bed, Tristan reluctantly released me. Handing his clipboard to the, round plump woman, he quickly donned a pair of surgical gloves.
"Miss Evans it's good to see you up and about again. You gave us quite a scare." The doctor said, with a full mouth smile.
His round cheeks sunk in, revealing two spheres. His dimples were well defined. They added a youthful look to his oval face.
"Okay. I am going to need everyone to wait outside."
Before Tristan could, get up out of his seat. I grabbed onto his hand. I wanted him to stay with me. I had forgotten that, other people was in the room. I was so busy basking in the familiarity of Tristan's warmth. I forgot about them. I glanced at them lazily.
They filed out of the room, quietly. When the door, closed the doctor once again turned to me.
Couple minutes later
After much difficulty, the doctor removed the air ventilator from my mouth. Rolling, my tongue around in my mouth, I settled in the uncomfortable bed.
"When can I leave?" I rasped.
Talking, hurts my throat, but I had to voice my thoughts. I didn't want to stay locked up in a room, filled with chemicals.
Both Tristan and the doctor, looked at me as if I had gone mad. Scrunching up my face, I stared at them blankly.
The doctor cleared his throat. "In a week's time. Even though, you've made such tremendous progress. We still need to keep you back for observation and testing."
"I don't want to stay here." I said, jutting out my chin.
"You're not out of the woods as yet. We still need to keep an eye on both you and the baby."
My body stiffen. Is this man, being serious right now? My hand, subconsciously touched my stomach. I'm still pregnant. But how is that even possible?
