Um.... Please forgive me if I mess up this tidbit of information. All the internet, seemed to want to talk about was constipation and STD. So I might not get this right. You're welcome to correct me.... Um.... Well then let's get to it then.
Tristan
Thirty-six hours later
"Tristan you have to eat something." Martha said, touching my shoulder.
I continued staring straight ahead. It's been thirty six hours, since they whisked Tiana off to the OR. I still haven't heard anything. Closing my eyes, I leaned my head against the wall.
I haven't moved an inch, since I followed the ambulance here. The nurses was kind enough, to allow me to shower in one of the bathroom. The OR door, open and the doctor, who was operating on Tiana strode out of the room.
He was wiping his hand on a blue hand kerchief. I stood up on shaking legs. I was mentally bracing myself for the bad news. The doctor approached us. "Mister Osaris?"
"Y-yes." I replied in a hoarse voice.
Pocketing his handkerchief, he swiped his finger across his forehead. "The operation was a success. The bullets didn't hit any major organ.... but she has lost a lot of blood."
"So she is stable?" Carolyn butted in, impatiently.
"Yes, they're both stable, but....."
My eyebrows knitted together. "Both?"
"Yes. Miss Evans is with child."
At the sound, of that my legs gave way. Nathaniel and Jessie, helped me back to the chair. My head was spinning. Holding my head in my hand, I closed my eyes.
That's impossible. How can she be pregnant? I mean we always, take precautions whenever we're making love.... but if she wasn't pregnant. How does one explain her frequent visits to the bathroom.
Her weird eating habits. Fuck! I was so blinded by the stupidest things, I didn't even take note to her well-being. I face palmed myself.
"But what?" Martha asked, remaining oblivious to my situation.
"Because of the blood loss, we need to keep her under observation. Right now she can't breath on her own. After getting her on the operating table, we lost her thrice. If she doesn't open her eyes, within the next seventy-two hours, then......" The doctor trailed off.
All the color drained from my face.
"Then what about the baby?" Martha asked.
The doctor was taken aback. "Uh... the patient is, in her second trimester. If her body holds out long enough, then......."
"Tiana will not become a human sized incubator!" I roared, interrupting the doctor's explanation.
Martha grimaced. "Desperate times calls for desperate measures! You heard what the man said, Tiana might not make it."
"How can you be so heartless?!"
"It's not about being heartless Tristan. Thinking ahead is always good. If we....."
"Shut up! Shut up! I won't allow you to take her away from me, like you did with my mother!" I cried. "If removing the fetus from, her stomach is the only way to save her. Then I'm going to do it! We'll have other chances to have other children. In this lifetime there is only ONE Tiana, Martha."
I shook my finger at her. "One! I've been through dozens of women, over the years... they only dated me because I had money and I was a best time selling author who got his books adapted into a movie! Tiana is the only one, who truly understands and love me. You know the difference Martha? No you don't. Nobody knows! Tiana has never once looked at me as if I was a bank account. She sees me as a person. Someone who has his bad days and his good days. She only committed one mistake..... I refuse to give up on Tiana. I won't!" My chest, heaved up and down.
Droplets of tears, streamed down my face. "You'll never understand the pain of losing, the person you love the most... you'll never understand my hardship...." My knees touched the tile. The coldness from off the floor, seeped through the thin layers of clothing.
Carolyn cupped the back of my head. Kneeling in front of me, she pulled me into her embrace. Sobbing, I pressed my face in the crook of Carolyn's neck.
"Nobody is going to take her away, from you Tristan." Carolyn croaked.
Please come back to me Tiana. I can't afford to lose you as well.... please, come back to me.
