Tiana
We found somewhere comfortable to sit, which consisted of an old almond tree, and a perfect view of the sky. Carolyn spread out the, blanket over the sand and we all took a seat.
I made sure to sit down beside Tristan. Popping the cork off the bottle, I took another drink.
"Sipping on water, at a beach party, is so lame." Stacey said, swirling her straw around in her bloody Mary.
"At least one of us, needs to stay sober and besides, I don't drink.... well that's a understatement. I only drink when I'm stressed."
Rebecca rolled her eyes.
"How old are you?" Nathaniel asked.
"Twenty one."
"You're pretty young. I honestly thought you were younger."
At the sound of that Tristan glared at Nathaniel. "I'm not a pervert you know...."
"I find it really strange. You hate younger women. Her pussy must be really good, if you're sticking around." Rebecca said, butting in. She took a huge gulp from her drink. She then grinds her teeth against her upper lip.
"Stop being so snotty." Carolyn said, pushing her hair back.
I picked at the label on the bottle.
"So I'm just as curious, as Jessie how did you both meet?" Stacey asked, as she smacked her lips together.
Tristan lights up one of his cigarettes. "At a family get together. Cathy....."
At the sound, of Cathy's name I stiffen. Just the thought of her, still left an ache in my chest. The wounds, she inflicted upon me was still fresh. Tristan touched my knee and I stared at his hand.
"So who's this Cathy person?" Rebecca slurred. I can't believe she was drunk already.
"She was Tiana's friend and roommate."
"Was?" Carolyn repeated, with a tilt of the head.
I decided to answer this one. "Tristan used past tense, because, Cathy and I don't talk anymore."
"I keep on forgetting, Tristan's family is filled with assholes." Carolyn sighed. "She gave you the ultimatum and you choose Tristan, over her?"
"Yup, pretty much. She didn't like that, so she kicked me out and that is why I'm sponging off of Tristan at the moment."
"Its not sponging. It doesn't make sense. You're gonna spend most of your time with me anyways. So why waste money and besides I have enough rooms." Tristan said, puffing smoke into the air.
"Aww! I've never seen Tristan like this. It's kind of cute." Stacey gushed. ".... I remember the first time I met Tristan. He was one scrawny mother fucker..."
Tristan threw the pack of cigarettes at Stacey's face. She shifted, to the side before the box could connect her in the middle of her forehead.
Carolyn chuckled."I thought you guys, promised to not talk about that!"
"Sorry Tristy, but if that girlfriend of yours is gonna be sticking around for a long time she needs to know as much about you, as possible." Stacey said, smirking."I agree!" Nathaniel piped in.
Tristan groaned. "Dear god! Not you too."
Nathaniel beamed at him.
"You know. I'm fucking regretting this!"
"No you aren't. Why don't you just admit, you missed us a lot doudou." Stacey said, smugly.
"Oh shut the fuck up. If y'all promise not to tell Tiana any embarrassing stories about me. I'll buy us another round."
"Deal!" They all, chirped.
Tristan took another drag from his cigarettes. "I knew you guys would say yes." He turned to me. ".... sorry baby, but you won't be hearing any embarrassing stories tonight."
I pecked his lips. "Doesn't really matter. I still like you."
"Would you just look at that?"
I felt Tristan tensed against me. Swiveling my head around, I met the gaze of the one person I wasn't expecting to see.
