Tristan

Couple hours later

I sat on the patio staring at nothing in particular. The smoke floated from my mouth. I had stood in the room for the hours, hoping that she would come out of the bathroom, but she didn't come out after all.

All I could hear, was her broken sobs. I wanted so much, to kick the door down and console her. Instead I left and came out here. Even the one thing, that usually calms me down, couldn't do shit for me today.

I felt disgusted with myself. All I wanted was to surprise my friends, but instead I got bitten on the ass. I did sleep with Rebecca but it was months ago. At that time, I was going through some tough times and she was the one who was there for me.

We both took advantage of each other. Using our bodies to de-stress. Tch shame on me. I thought what we had was mutual.

Guess I was mistaken. Now Tiana was heartbroken by that information. Hurting her wasn't my intention. I loved her so much and yet.... I clenched my fist.

Taking another draw from my cigarette, I puffed the smoke out. I heard the sliding door opened.

"You know that's bad for you right?" Carolyn said, pinching the cigarette from my hand and crushing it under her shoes.

"You sound like Tiana." I said, with a roll of the eyes.

I leaned back on the swinging chair.

"Is everything alright with your girlfriend?" She asked.

"She's not talking to me. So I don't know if everything is okay or not."

"If I had, known that Rebecca was going t behave like this, I wouldn't have carried her with me."

"Its not your fault Carolyn. This is entirely my fault...." I sighed. "... I should have at least told Tiana the truth about Rebecca and I. I should have also.... pushed Rebecca away that day, when she came on to me."

Carolyn sat down beside me. "Your past is your past and your present is your present. Rebecca is your past and Tiana is your present. In order for this to work. You both need to talk. Sitting behind close doors is not going to help. Resolve things before it's too late...."

"It won't be easy."

"This is the happiest, I've seen you in years Tristan. I can tell she is the one for you. If she doesn't want to listen to you, grab her by the shoulders and make her listen. I would hate to see, a flower get trampled on, before it fully blooms."

I stared up into the sky.

Carolyn's head, bumped against my shoulder. "... I'm really glad you've found someone, who accepts you for who you are." She squeezed my legs.

Closing my eyes, I enjoyed the sounds of nature and the feeling of the late night breeze whipping against my skin.
