Tiana
Tick.
Tock.
Tick.
Tock.
I pushed the sheets off my body, in frustration. Sitting up, I rubbed my temple. No matter how hard, I tried I couldn't sleep. My mind, was running one hundred, and thirty miles per hour. Sighing, I pushed my feet, in my bedside slippers.
Grabbing my phone from the bedside, table. I unlocked it... Tristan and mine, picture smiled back at me. As I stared at the welcome screen, I felt myself slowly breaking down. This is all I seem to do these days. Cry.
I'm such a wuss. First it was Cathy and now it was an alien, growing in the pits of my stomach. I ruffled my hair, with all honestly I needed to think of something fast. I couldn't bear the thought of leaving, the one person who has been there for me. Closing the screen of my phone, I got up off the bed.
My movements, were sluggish as I sauntered out of the room. Running my fingers along, the wall, I turned the corner. The laughter was louder now and more clearer. Pocketing my phone, I tread down the stairs.
It didn't take long for me to reach the kitchen. I reluctantly stepped inside and all eyes turned to me.
Tristan's face lights up in glee. "Tiana. I thought you were sleeping."
I ran my fingers through my hair. "I couldn't sleep." I grunted.
I moved further into the room. I met the gaze of every single, onlooker in the room. Not an ounce of emotions was on their face.
"You know it's not polite to stare." I said, with an arched eyebrow.
They continued sizing me up.
"Please excuse my friends. I keep forgetting they're UNTRAINED."
"Haha! Very funny Tristan." The brown haired girl said, with a beaming smile.
Tristan motioned for me to come closer. Nibbling on my lips, I ambled over cautiously. Their eyes followed me. Is this what a deer feels like, when it comes in contact with a lion?
"Guy's I want you to meet, my girlfriend Tiana. Tiana meet my friends."
"Wait what, you have a girlfriend?" They all said, in unison. Their eyes, bugged out of their heads.
Tristan rubbed the nape of his neck. "I thought I told you guys."
"No you didn't." The red haired girl said.
"I never knew, you were into dark skinned girls." My attention, snapped to the woman.
A scornful look was on her face... she had shoulder length blue hair.... her amber colored eyes, pierced mine, her plump pink lips were pursed in distaste. The attitude she was bestowing on me, made her ugly. I immediately took a disliking towards her.
The good mood, that was once in the room slowly evaporated.
"Rebecca!" The brown haired woman, quipped.
"What I was just voicing my thoughts." She said, shrugging nonchalantly.
The brown hair girl, stood up. A open mouth smile slides across her face. "Sorry about Rebecca. By the way, I'm Carolyn, it's a pleasure to meet you!" She said, in a super bubbly voice.
"Likewise." I grunted.
Someone cleared their throat. "I'm Nathaniel." The blond guy said. He saluted me.
I bobbed my head at him.
"That's Jessie..." She pointed at the raven coloured hair, guy who was munching away at taco bells. Jessie gave me a little wave and I returned the gesture. "...... last but not least this is Stacey. The mother hen of the group..."
"Bonjour!" Stacey said, her expression was blank.
"''Sup." I responded.
"And this is Rebecca. Please excuse her. She has a really bad habit of speaking, whatever is on her mind."
Rebecca rolled her eyes.
"Mostly I don't really care what anyone has to say. Yes I'm black, and I am proud of my skin color. Just because you're Tristan's friend, doesn't mean that I will take, whatever your pale ass dish out at me. Leave your racist shit at the door."
Rebecca raised her eyebrow at me.
