Innocent

Let's take a step back

Into the past

A better time

Back when we didn't do drugs to relax

To when we didn't need pills to make the happiness last

A time when we would listen even if you didn't speak in a rhyme

Let's take a step back

Go back to a time before we felt alone

When our hearts weren't hidden behind an impenetrable wall

And we never cared about what we lack

Or the model of our phone

We were happy with what we had, years back

When we were small

Let's take a step back

Because this is truly sickening

Can't we go back to the time where it didn't matter the color of your skin

We've turned into monsters, we need to go back

Back to when the rise of self imposed disaster wasn't quickening

Can't you see, living in this society, no one can win

Let's take a step back

To when there was happiness in each breath

When we were all truly seen as equivalent

Where we didn't feel like every day we were under attack

Or feel the only solution to escape the situation was death

Let's return to the days we were once innocent
