Strength to Stay

Everyday seems to be the same

I'm getting sick of this tiresome game

Keep secret all of the tears that I've cried

Pretend it's okay when I'm dying inside

But when I make my friends smile, when I hear their laughs

Their smiles stay in my mind, eternal as mental photographs

It helps to silence the awful thoughts in my head

Those smiles give me reasons to get out of bed

And yes there will always be a day

Those thoughts come back and I have to push them all away

But I will always get over it, just give me time

There will always be another mountain in my life I'll need to climb

And it may seem like it's too much, like I'll never get to the top

But in time I'll mount it, no matter how many times I stop

Don't think I'm running away

No matter what, I'm here to stay
