You looked around your room. All the objects you walk past everyday. Some of them you had forgotten about.
The hairbrush, yours. The captain America statue, Bucky's. The books, yours. The cd's, Bucky's.
Steve let out a loud sigh as he slept next to you. You two had made amends and back to normal but his words had swam in your head for days now.
You really did need to get over Bucky. That wasn't going to be easy in this room.
His smell still lingered in his clothes. All his stuff was still here. All the pictures and things he'd use everyday.
If it wasn't for Dorothy needing to know who her dad was, you'd throw it all away. That's the only way you could get on with stuff everyday.
You knew what you had to do, but you didn't think anyone would like it.
"What?" Tony choked on his coffee as he heard the uproar from the next room. Tony quickly grabbed his plate of breakfast off the counter and backed up slightly as Wanda ran in to the room after you.
"You can't do that!" She squealed.
"I can Wanda, and I will. It's for the best." You answered, slightly aggravated at your best friend.
"Everything okay?" Tony cautiously asked.
"Y/N wants to move out and into an apartment!" She turned to Tony, still upset. You rolled your eyes and interjected.
"Just down the road! I'd still see you all. I do work here!" You reasoned. Wanda scoffed and crossed her arms.
"Why do you want to move? Is there a problem with your room? I can change it-"
"No, Tony. I'm a mom now and I need my own space. Also this building is no place for a toddler, that's been proven many times." Tony shrugged and agreed. "And I can't move on from Bucky when we lived here together. This place is holding me back, guys." You tried to explain, desperate for your friends to support you.
Tony nodded and wrapped an arm around your shoulder. "If that's what you want, then do it. I'll help and put some towards it. My treat." You rolled your eyes and shook your head. "Have you told Steve? I don't think he'd be very happy about you taking his god daughter away." Tony winced at the thought.
"She's my god daughter too!" Wanda yelled, still unhappy by the news.
"I don't see you sleeping in Y/N's room every night to make sure she's safe." Tony scolded.
"That's because I'm not in love with Y/N! And I have powers. If something happened I'd be there in an instant!" She hissed.
You walked away as they continued to quarrel, trying to ignore your heart racing at Wanda's words.
Steve sat opposite you, face expressionless as he waited for you to talk. "Okay. I want to move out of the tower. I need somewhere I can raise Dorothy safely and not be reminded of Bucky everyday." Steve blinked a few times and nodded.
"Okay. Where were you thinking?" He was surprisingly okay with this...
"There's an apartment a few blocks away. It's perfect really. Big living room, three bedrooms, office-"
"When do we look at it?" He smiled excitedly.
"We?" You raised your eyebrows. Steve nodded with screwed up eyes.
"Yeah, I think I need to see the place we're moving to. Don't you?" You stared at him for another few seconds.
"You want to move with me?" You asked dryly.
He looked even more confused. "Yes? I thought that was the plan? Do you not want me to come?" You smiled and moved slightly forward on your seat.
"Of course Steve, but why would you want to live with me?" He shrugged and you smiled even more.
"Dorothy needs two role models and I'm not letting you go on your own. I know you don't need protecting but I couldn't live with myself if something happened to either of you." Your heart swelled as you nodded.
"Well," You started. "I was thinking about looking at the apartment tomorrow." Steve's whole face brightened up as he agreed.
