A smile played at your lips as you took in the living room before you. It was the fifth time you'd seen it, and it still shocked you.
It was quite big yet cosy. The floors were wooden and there was a gas fire place. The kitchen joined on to it which included a breakfast bar.
You could just see it now. Dorothy getting ready for school. You and Steve smiling at her while you eat breakfast together.
You slowly made your way to the balcony that was big enough to be a bedroom, really. Steve followed, a babbling toddler on his hip.
"I can already tell you're in love." He mused, looking out over the balcony with you.
"We haven't seen the rest of it yet." You argued cheerily.
"Exactly." He smirked, placing his hand on the small of your back to lead you back in to the apartment.
The agent, Linda, lead you to the first bedroom, a gleaming smile on her ageing face as she watched your faces.
It was every girls dream.
Most of the far walls were windows which let a beautiful glow light up the room. It had an en suite and walk in closet.
Of course if Steve wanted this room, you'd be prepared to bargain, but you could so see yourself coming home and lounging in here.
"It's perfect, isn't it?" Linda chimed. "Perfect for two." You and Steve looked at each other at her comment, but didn't say anything. Instead you decided to continue with the tour.
"Here we have the playroom." She said as she opened the door. "For the little one." She smiled at your child and let you look in before closing the door.
She also showed you various other rooms. At the spare room, she made an offhand comment on how it could be a nursery in case another child was on the way. You didn't miss that.
"Well. That's that. I must say I do have a few other offers but I've let you have the first say. You're the nicest couple who's looked." She beamed.
I took in a breath before speaking. "Oh, we're not-"
"Thank you. We often get told we're too sappy." Steve smiled charmingly as he looped his arm around your waist.
You looked up at him in confusion.
"Of course not! True love can't be unseen. The way you two look at each other, well, it just reminds me how brilliant this world can be." You now turned to her with a confused expression. "Finding someone who truly loves you is hard. But once you do, it makes all the bad stuff in the world a little easier." She carried. You smiled, deciding it wouldn't be a good idea to ruin the illusion she had made.
"I'll let you two talk for a few minutes." She grinned before leaving the room.
You immediately turned to Steve and hit his chest softly.
"What? She's more likely to sell it to us if she thinks we're together." He explained nonchalantly. You only huffed. "So? Do you want it? I think it's perfect, but it's your decision really." He shrugged, adjusting Dorothy in his arms.
"It's our decision Rogers." You grumbled. You looked around you and took it all in again one last time before turning back to Steve. "I love it." You breathed out.
"That sorts it then." He smiled.
It didn't take long to have all the forms filled out, and when you returned to the tower, you exclaimed that you had bought the apartment.
Everyone, excluding Wanda, was ecstatic.
