Life had been a simple routine in the last six months. Different to how it was before you were pregnant. When you woke up, instead of sex or cuddling, you'd have to spend five minutes to make sure you could actually get up. The round stomach you sported never helped much with movement.
When you had finally gotten up and dressed and successfully weed for the first time of many, you made sure Dot was up and ready for the day ahead, be it a weekday or weekend. Being in a routine meant she would be okay when the baby arrived.
Steve would have just gotten in from his run by now, had breakfast with Dot and taken her to school or played with her. However today, he opted to focus on a mission brief he had forgotten to do in the week, leaving you to fold laundry while your child played happily on the floor with her action men.
"What adventures are Tony and Bruce on today?" You asked with a small smile.
She lifted her iron man toy and grinned. "Tony is helping Bruce in the lab! They're making talking dogs for me and the baby!" She replied cheerily.
You gasped. "Talking dogs? Is that possible?" She nodded eagerly.
"Uh huh! Tony said that when I was older he'd make one for me. Only it would be a really rare kind of dog." Your eyebrows raised as she continued to play.
"What kind would that be?" You asked, rummaging through the basket.
"A metal one." She stated simply. You laughed quietly.
"Of course." You mumbled, amused at the story's Tony would tell Dot on her visits to the tower.
Last time he had convinced her that Jarvis was just a man that liked to hide in the vents. When Dot had asked if it was Clint, Tony furrowed his brows.
"Clint likes to climb through the vents and nest like a birdy." Tony's shocked face and Clints smirk had you chuckling for days about it. Now it was a running joke within the team that Clint was in fact Jarvis and spied on everyone there.
"What else will Tony make for you?" You smirked.
"An iron man suit to match his." She beamed.
"Oh really?" You asked, smile dropping.
"Only when I'm older though. He said that you wouldn't let me have one now and even if you did he was scared I'd be better than him at flying." Your smile slowly returned.
"He's right there. You'd fly so fast no one could see you!" You gasped at the fake realisation. "You'd be like superman."
She gasped as well. "Can I please have a suit, mommy?" She begged.
"Ask Steve." You quipped, knowing his overprotective nature would go berserk If she was even drawn with a suit on.
As you were carrying the next basket through the hall, the doorbell rang. You heaved a sigh, holding the basket over your belly and pressing the buzzer.
You couldn't be bothered to see who it was. If it was a robber, you were sure Steve would sort them out.
As you walked away from the door, a knock was heard. "Man they must have flew up the stairs." You whispered to yourself, carrying you and the basket back to the door to greet your guest.
You went to look through the peephole but decided against it as you couldn't reach with the basket over your six month bump.
After sweeping some hair behind your ear, you opened the door and the sight almost made you drop your basket.
Silence fell around you and you heart stopped inside your chest. The hairs on the back of your neck stood on end as you took in the sight in front of you.
It couldn't be. That dark long hair. The solid stubble. The shining figure almost blinding you.
Finally you found your voice after feeling it was trapped.
"Bucky?" You choked.
He was looking at you through his lashes and smiled sheepishly.
"Hey love."
