"So I was thinking." Steve said casually as he landed on the couch next to you.
"Uh oh." You mumbled as you turned the page in your book that was currently sitting on your 4 month bump.
He smiled. "When we get married, I want the baby to be there. In person." You closed your book and placed it on the coffee table. "Just imagine that. Dorothy in a beautiful dress throwing petals down the aisle, and a little baby in a little dress-"
"Or tux."
"Or tux, watching their parents get married." You nodded and smiled at him.
"Steve. As if I'd go down the aisle with a bump. Who am I? A 16 year old." His eyebrows furrowed in confusion but he didn't add to it. "How about we leave all wedding planning for a later date?" You offered.
He nodded slightly. "Like?" He trailed off.
"Like...a year and 6 months from now." You said gingerly.
"What?" His voice raised an octave.
"I don't want to carry a baby around the whole day. I'd like a little bit of time to enjoy myself...and you." He was instantly humbled.
"Oh. Yeah. Sure. Enjoy yourself. And me. Yeah." You grinned and placed your hand on his cheek.
"Steve. We will get married. I know you're big on tradition, but times have changed and no one will judge you for having two kids before marriage." You mused. He sniggered along and finally looked at you.
"You're right. I'm sorry." You smiled softly and leant towards him. "Love you."
"Love you too." He said quietly before pecking your lips.Saturdays meant grilled cheese. That was the routine that had been laid down my Dot a month ago and you had to follow direct orders if you wanted to have her in bed on time that night.
It's not that you didn't enjoy making meals for you child. Of course it humbled you beyond belief. But you couldn't stand the smell of the cheese and it made you gag as you pressed the sandwich onto the pan.
"Sweetie can you go and get Steve?" You turned to her. She smiled and nodded and in a blink of an eye she wasn't there anymore.
You blinked a few more times, wondering how she moved so fast. Maybe you were just tired and there was a delay.
Without any indication of her return, she was in front of you again. You let out a yelp as you fell against the counter.
"What? How? How did you move so quick?" You asked breathlessly.
"What? I move fast like dad and Steve." She answered nonchalantly.
You took in a breath. "Do that again for me? Show me how fast you can move?" She nodded eagerly. One minute she was there and the next she had gone. And then she was back, a toy in her hands and a cheeky grin on her face.
You took a few seconds to collect yourself. "Okay. Okay, cool. My five year old has super speedy powers. Cool. Cool." You reached for your phone and sighed.
"Hey, Wanda? Wanna come over for some grilled cheese?"Sorry it's short. I'm busy packing for New York 😁 will update soon with some more interesting content. Thank you all so much.
