THE QUARRY WAS just outside the city, and yet it seemed almost untouched by the destruction. As Issac drove up the road leading to the abandoned granite quarry, she looked at the city skyline just behind them. Once a beautiful and booming city, now reduced to charred buildings and overrun by the dead. It was a Dead City in every sense of the word, and she hoped that she never had to return.

She was brought back to reality by Issac clearing his throat. He took the keys out of the ignition and gave her knee a pat before he climbed out. She looked at the roof of the car, letting out a loud sigh. "Fuck," she mumbled, closing her eyes for a moment before opening the door and climbing out.

Madeline Walsh has never and will never be known for her people skills. She was an introverted person outside of her small group of friends and brothers. So this, introducing herself and forcing pleasantries, isn't exactly her thing. She found herself standing right behind Issac, though a step or two behind him. He was already knee deep in a conversation with a young women with blonde wavy hair, but that wasn't surprising. Her brother has always been a ladies man, and by the way the women popped out her hip and touched his bicep, he's still got it.

"-and this is my little sister, Madeline." Her brother smiled while grabbing her arm and dragging her forward so she was right beside him. She plastered a smile on her lips and extended her hand towards the women.

"Nice to meet you, I'm Andrea." The women introduced herself and shook her hand. "Come on, I'll give you two the full tour."

Though the camp didn't look like much, it was well organized and all of its inhabitants were kind for the most part. Issac was immediately accepted by the gruff looking men, though Charlotte didn't mind. She had always preferred the company of women more than men, finding it easier to open up when it came to that. After the tour she joined her brother in setting up their tent that Dale offered them and unpacked their few belongings.

The three duffles the pair had in their trunk were filled mostly with clothing, toiletries, and non perishables. She carried a box from the back of cans and such to one of the women in the camp. Carol had been ecstatic when she saw the cans of fruits and vegetables the siblings had saved.

"Now I love squirrel as much as the next girl in this camp, but..." she trailed off as she held a can of fruit cocktail up into the light as if it was treasure.

"Try living off of teriyaki beef jerky for a week and a half. When my brother came back from his trip to the city we feasted on a can of pears and almost cried." Madeline offered, chuckling.
