Classes went by quick and lunch even quicker. Becca gave me another small bite of a cookie before I made my way into Econ. I sat towards the back now and had a direct line of sight to Isaac. He and Brittany walked in holding hands, her wearing his away jersey. His number painted on her cheek. I couldn't focus on the lecture all I could focus on was his fingertips running gently up and down her exposed thigh.

I gritted my teeth unable to watch anymore, I slammed my notebook shut and shoved it into my bag. I pushed away from the table roughly, the metal screeching against the tile floor. All eyes fell on me as I headed for the door. My classmates murmuring amongst themselves about my behavior. I walked quickly towards the field when Max ran up beside me.

            "Em, what's going on?"

"I just couldn't be in there anymore I felt like I was suffocating," I stopped to look at him. Sucking my cheeks in, trying my best not to cry AGAIN!

"Hey, its okay. I get it." He smiled as he reached out for my hand, "Want to do your favorite form of therapy?"

My eyes brightened at the thought, "Wait really?"

"Of course, I'm the President of the student body now, which makes my access much easier," he smirked as he showed off the master key to the school.

"Have I ever told you how much I love?"

"You have but I will never get tired of hearing it," he pulled me into a tight hug. Peppering the top of my head with rough kisses.

"I love you Max," I screamed as loud as I could. He grasped my hand and led me down towards the field. When we reached the field, he headed up to the press box to start playing my favorite song, U & Us by Quinn XCII. I slipped off my shoes and stripped out of my restrictive uniform to pull on my practice shorts. Suddenly the song was bouncing off the empty seats of the stadium, my heart pounding with excitement. I slowly made my way towards the center of the field. My body moving to the steps I had choregraphed for my audition. Max made his way down to watch me perform the one thing that has always brought me joy, dance. At some point I ditched the scripted movements and just allowed my body to channel all the emotions and thoughts flowing through me. Maybe it was the marijuana in the cookie, but I felt utterly free.

The bell rang but it went unheard, I was completely consumed by another world I was creating. If I could remain in this state of euphoria for the rest of my life I would have. The stereo cycled through my favorites, and I never skipped a beat. My body felt fluid as it moved through the array of tempos. When I finally felt breathless, I came back down to earth. I looked towards Max with a smile that quickly fell when I realized the audience of football players and cheerleaders staring at me. However, the eyes that caught my attention were the piercing blue ones staring at me with spite.

Swallowing the lump in my throat I ran and slipped on my skirt and top once more. The applause from my teammates made me feel incredibly uncomfortable, I hadn't meant for anyone to watch other than Max.

"Damn Lahey, if I had known you could move like that, I would have hit it a long time ago," one of the players shouted.

Max sensed my unease and ran to turn off the music and return my phone.

Sean leaned against the fence on the opposite side as I stood. "You are very good, you always have been." I smiled, "Are you going to the party tonight?"

"Yeah, Becca and I are going together."

"Well if you want to dance or anything, I'd be happy to," he placed his hand gently on my arm. "I miss you Emily."
