I sit at a table alone and looking around at everyone. I felt weird knowing I knew most of them and they didn't know I even existed

"Hey um your in my seat ." I jumped out of my thoughts and noticed that a boy with a baggy top on and sliced back hair

Oh uh s-so-."he cut me off

"Don't worry" he smiled sitting next to me

"Do I know you.." he dragged on the you suggesting he wanted to know my name

"Olivia jade." I smile holding out my hand
"Patrick brown." He shook my hand and returned the smile

"Who's that." I heard a deep familiar voice
I turned around see boy with My former history teacher mr white
Before I opened my mouth Patrick jumped in "shes my new friend."

he sits down with his tray. "just making some friends," I answer with a smile. "Well you've got me," he smiles.

"I only know those two girls" I point over to the girls getting food "Oh yeah, Sammy and tori. he says and turns his head back to me.

"You're good bro, what's Sammy like?" "Sammy Jade? She's the sweetest person, I don't know how she fell for that dick Jake,"

"I smell jealousy."
I tease. To be fair, Mr.White use to always asking my mom to have parent teacher conferences. Ew.

"Shut up" he pouts and more embarassed.

"Shh my lips are sealed."I tease him.
He gently pushes my shoulder.

"Hey look guys the homo has a girlfriend."
My dad walks up and points,

"Go fuck yourself." I glare, talking to both boys, "Lets go."

We get up and go outside to see Patrick and one of his friends smoking. "Sup Olivia, this is Arron." he introduces pointing at his friend and I nod I notice he has an old school camera with him, well I guess a current style camera since theres no real technology yet. "Cool camera," I point. "Eh, holding it for a friend. He's the real camera geek here," he looks at it boredly, "He's just worried it will get ruined while he's in the bathroom. Jocks and shit, the usual,"

"I hate those guys," I shake my head. "Hey Alex , she looks pretty close to Sammy, if she won't smash maybe Olivia will," Patrick jokes as he lights a cigarette.

"Cute." He pulls a sarcastic face at Patrick and puts his hands on his hips.

"She really does look like Sammy."
Arron jokes. "Except I'm literally older than them. I'm gonna head to my next class," I let them know feeling awkward. I dash to my math class upstairs. It makes me uncomfortable when people say I look so much like my parents, especially when they both look unhealthy. At least in their teen years they looked average but later in their 30s they're extremely underweight and pale with sulkin eyes and skin, both for different reasons.

Now I've become accustomed to eating less healthy and staring in the mirror to check if I look deathly. I never want to end up like them. In math I sit at a table alone and once in a while a new student will scurry in early. At first bell the rest of the students come in. Only one comes in late.

The chair next to me is the only one left so theres where he moves. The teacher doesn't even acknowledge him being late, as if he is used to it. I keep getting distracted by him picking at his hand and force myself to stay quiet. I'll be sure to move tomorrow.
