Everyone was getting ready for bed, minus Sabrina, Davis, and Abby who'd already left, when Demi called for us to meet in the living room.
Jay sent a worried look my way and I shook my head. She wouldn't bring up the bowl with our family here. We sat on the smaller couch, letting Dianna, Eddie, and Maia's mom, name, take the bigger one. Dallas and Maddie perched on the arms of the couches, watching their sister intently.
"What's going on?" Maddie asked. "Did we miss some presents?"
Demi chuckled, Maia moving closer to her. "Not exactly. We have an announcement."
I saw Dianna squeeze Eddie's hand and I wondered if she already knew.
"As you know, we never had an official wedding ceremony, with everything going on the last few years, but we always wanted one," Demi said, taking a moment to look at everyone's confused expressions. "Well, after the rest of this tour, Maia and I are planning to have our dream wedding." She was grinning, hugging Maia to her side. Dallas and Maddie were cheering as they jumped up and hugged Demi and Maia. Dianna looked like she was about to cry and Demi freed herself from her sisters to hug her mom.
"I'm so happy for you two," Dianna said, Maia joining in on their hug. She then hugged her own mom, who appeared to be crying, as Maddie bounded over to me and grabbed my hands to jerk me up.
"We get to be bridesmaids!" she exclaimed, happily, wrapping her arms around me, face in my hair. Demi laughed and when Maddie pulled away, something was pulling my hair.
"Ow, ow. Did you really get your nose ring caught in my hair?" I asked, Maddie laughing quietly since she was so close to my ear.
"Apparently. Sorry."
Maia was the closest, so she untangled Maddie's septum ring from my hair.
Once we were free, Maddie spun to look at Demi. "So, who gets to be the maid of honor?"

The next day, Jay was packed and ready to go home, but she was upset her bowl was missing.
Demi had dodged Maddie's question, saying they had a lot to plan and hadn't thought much about that yet. They were leaving to go back to Texas, so they were all packing when Jay left. I walked out with her to the car.
"Hey, I wanted to ask you something," I said. "I wanted to know if you quit taking, um, Ritalin." I pressed my lips together, still feeling some of the lip balm I had put on.
"Yeah, I quit," she said, smiling. "I'll see you soon. I love you."
She pulled me into a hug and I smelled my perfume she had sprayed before she left my room.
"I love you too," I said, moving aside so she could get in the car. I watched her drive off and once the gate was closed, I went back in, finding my moms in the living room, looking less than pleased. In Maia's hand, she held something that looked very familiar, and as I got closer, I realized it was Jay's bowl.
Confusion plastered itself onto my face as she gestured for me to sit down.
"Do you know what this is?" Maia asked, letting me get a good look at the glass pipe I had used several times.
My options were to lie, or say that I did, but I had never seen it before. I went with the second one.
"Well, it was in Jay's bag. Do you know anything about that?" Maia asked, not completely believing my story. Not that she should have.
I shook my head.
"You have no idea why this would be in her bag?" Demi asked.
I shook my head again.
"Rosie," Demi said, sighing. "We've asked you many times if anything was going on. Now is the time to tell us."
I swallowed a lump, thoughts swarming me like a bunch of angry bees. "I don't know why it was in her bag. She doesn't do anything like that, but it might be Jordan's." I glanced between them and I saw their belief settle in. "I swear, I have no idea."
Demi sighed again, looking at Maia. "Okay, well, until school starts again, you're not allowed to see Jay."
Maia stretched out her hand, the one with the pipe. "And we're trusting you to make sure this gets back to Jordan."
"What?"
"It's legal, so there's not much we can do. Just... don't. Okay?"
I nodded, carefully taking the pipe before going back to my room. Disbelief at the entire situation took over as I closed my bedroom door, stashing the pipe in my nightstand for the time being. Maia had gone through her bag. I knew something was up, but they hid it fairly well.
Releasing a long breath, I waited for Jay to text that she was home, and I informed her about what happened after she left. She wasn't happy about it, which was understandable.
After everyone else in the house was on their way to the airport, I was bored and texted Tess.
Tess: hey jay tolf me what happened
Me: Yeah I have nothing to do now that my family is gone
Tess: ask if I can come over. They said you can't see jay but I'm not jay
Me: I doubt it but I'll ask. Brb
I left my phone on my bed and made my way downstairs. Demi was in the kitchen, making what I guessed was tea and Maia was reading something on her phone at the counter.
"Hey," I said, gaining their attention. "I was wondering if Tess could come over. She's kinda lonely without Paige." I stopped there, not wanting to start what could turn into a giant snowball of lies. A lie-ball.
They took a long time to answer, but finally agreed. They still only thought Jordan was the one smoking, so they didn't have a problem with Tess.
I hurried back to my room to tell her it was okay and she quickly answered saying she was on the way.
