Another boring week passed, the only good part of the day was Jay showing me her drawings. She claimed not to be that great at drawing people, but everyone who saw them would beg to differ. But everyone also agreed that the one of me was the best, which always made a slight blush spread over my cheeks.

I shot small glances at Jay, seeing if I could find any traces of emotion about the kiss. But just like the previous week, I saw nothing. It was like it had never happened, but I knew it did.

On Thursday, Maia picked me up and I decided I would confront Jay the next day.

I couldn't handle the emotions anymore. They were supposed to be locked away, but seeing her nearly every day made it harder to contain them. I had to tell her or I would explode.

Friday I made sure to get up early so I could do my hair and makeup. I even touched up the dark blue nail polish on my nails, and eventually Maia came in to see what was taking me so long.

"I don't know what to wear," I said, pointing to the pile of clothes now occupying my bed.

"It'll be okay. You look good. Like, great," she said, picking through my clothes.

"Well, I had a great teacher."

She grinned and spent a few minutes going through clothes and holding them up to me. Finally, she picked something out and left so I could change. She picked out some dark blue jeans, a white shirt with a low neckline, and the new leather jacket I got at the mall before Demi left.

I stared at myself in the mirror, slipping into some black wedged booties, in awe. Maia had done a great job, it was like she knew exactly what I wanted even though I didn't.

I grabbed my phone and bag before heading downstairs.

"Ready?" Maia asked, shaking the keys in her hand.

"No breakfast?"

She tossed me a few granola bars and grabbed a water bottle from the fridge, throwing it from behind the counter. I wasn't ready, and it grazed my hand before flying behind me. "Good one," I said, grabbing the bottle and shoving it and the granola bars in my bag.

"Did I ever say I was good at sports?"

"That sounds rhetorical, so I'm not gonna say anything."

We got in the car and she chuckled. "Good girl."

At school, I went straight to my first period, since I didn't see my friends. Emma was already in her seat, reading a book. She didn't try to talk to me, and when Brie came in, she didn't even look at me.

Everything was pretty normal, and I desperately waited for my lunch period to come so Jay would come in for art. But she never did.

"Have you seen Jay?" Ms. Russell asked me when she took roll.

I just shook my head, continuing my project. It was one where we got to use our phones for a reference picture, so I was able to see a text from Jordan on Instagram. I slowly picked my phone up and opened it.

Jordan: Jay's sick. She was gonna tell you but I think she lost her phone. None of us have heard anything from her

Me: Oh thanks

I closed the app, going back to my photos. I worked for a few minutes, and then I got another message.

Jordan: Don't worry

I ignored it, working until the bell rang and I had to go to my next class, well if you can call study hall a class. But Paige would be there since she recently had to make some changes to her schedule. Apparently chemistry was harder than she thought it would be.
