Chapter One Hundred and Six

Anna Babysat for us so we could go out for our anniversary. Gary took me out for a lovely meal. Gary had given me a beautiful card and 12 ruby red roses. I gave him a huge box of his favourite Choccies.

"Ok Guys..Go have a great time! And don't hurry back! We'll be fine." Anna was staying the night, so we didn't have to hurry back and she could get off to bed when she wanted.

We had a lovely secluded table at the Chinese restaurant, and were pleasantly surprised that we weren't interrupted once. After we moved on to a swish wine bar. Which decided to play a few of Gary and Take That's songs, which made him giggle. Especially at me whom after a few glasses of Rosé wine got up and danced and sang away. I hadn't seen him laugh so much for a long time. His laugh always made me happy.

Anna was asleep on the sofa when we fell in the door at 2 am. Gary went upstairs to grab a blanket and dropped it gently over her as she slept while I made our bedtime cup of tea.

We took our tea to bed, but it got forgotten when we cuddled together and then ended our wonderful evening making love. Gary's body was extremely toned, he always buffed up for the tours especially, but his body showed no signs of his younger rounder self that even to me still looked very sexy. Gary had always 'had' my eye. Being overweight myself, size was no object. I loved Gary for Gary...always had.

We both fell asleep snuggled together... Content.

As our warm summer progressed, we spent our days out walking, trips to the park with the kids. Theme parks and sight seeing. Bella had also learned to swim too, which Gary was extremely proud at.

We kept up our Dinner Parties once a month and coincided ours with Taylor's First Birthday. He was now up and walking and never stopped talking. He even started to dance every time he heard Gary's and TakeThats music. Many a time the boys had been over and just roared with laughter watching him wiggle his little bottom to their songs.

As we put our one year old to bed, we both stood in the doorway of his room. Gary and I had decorated it for his birthday in a 'car' theme. He loved red cars especially and Gary had bought him a special red racing car bed. Taylor loved it.

"I can't believe he's one!" I whispered to Gary.

"Where did that little bundle go that I caught as you pushed him out?"

"I don't know..he looks a such a big boy in that bed."

"Glad he likes it..I was worried he'd fall out all the time! I wish I'd had a bed like that when I was a lad!"

Blowing Taylor a kiss I pulled the door too.

"Right let's go entertain the troops downstairs huh?!" Gary held out a hand for me to hold leading the way downstairs.

Our evening meal topped off a wonderful day, tiring but wonderful all the same. Gary's belly pork had gone down a treat with everyone, I was so impressed I said he could cook more often.

Vicki was showing nicely now, her perfect round belly bump stood out proudly and Marky was forever placing his hand on it and grinning like a cat who'd got the cream. He'd make a wonderful daddy I was sure. They both looked so happy, so in love. I'm glad I had that chat with him back when they had had that argument. They were so meant for each other. Now becoming parents just proved I was right.

Sam and Howard were strangely quiet that evening and Howard just hadn't been able to sit still for some reason. I made a mental note to have a chat with Sam after pudding to make sure everything was ok? Not seen Dougie like this before.

As we all finished our pudding Howard stood up, no one seemed to notice until he tapped his glass with a spoon..

"Everyone...I just want to propose a toast to Mel and Gaz for a lovely day. Glad 'little monster' had a wonderful day and thank you for inviting us All.....Gaz and Mel!"

"GAZ AND MEL" everyone repeated.

Howard bent and grabbed Sam's hand pulling her up to stand. Making us all wonder what was going on..

"And I just wanted to ask my beautiful Girlfriend here to be my wife?" He turned to her and dropped to his knee and pulled out a small red box from his inside jacket pocket.

"Oh my god!" I blabbed aloud!

A stunned silence seemed to go on forever.

[DONT YOU FUCKING SAY NO SAM!] I thought to myself.

Vicki seemed to take forever to give her answer...

"Uh...oh..my..um...yes you fucking idiot! Of course I will!" Huge applause followed as they hugged and kissed. Slipping the single diamond ring on her finger Howard punched the air! "Yes!!"

Whilst us girls all wiped our tears the boys piled on Howard. How I loved their quirky celebrations.

Giving Sam a hug I said. "Congratulations! That was a shock!"

"I know I don't quite believe it myself!" She looked so over whelmed.

"Well welcome to the TakeThat wife and Baby Club" and I hugged her again.

"Ohh thank you!"

When the boys finally got off Howard I pulled him into a tender hug. I could feel Gary's eyes burning into my back. When was he ever gonna believe me?

"Hey you! Come ere!" Whispering into his ear I said "you deserve to be happy Howie" then a little louder I said. "Congratulations..I'm so pleased for you both! How long were you planning that!?"

"Well a while now..but god I was so nervous today"

"Yeah! I did notice you were a bit jittery ... Well done!"

"Thank you!"

As the celebrations died down I broke the silence.

"Well these parties are getting serious!"

"I'll drink to that!" Gary grinned raising his glass. "To Dougie and Sam!"

"DOUGIE AND SAM"

"Well there's no way anyone's driving tonight...so you can all stay here...lock in" Gary shouted.

"Sounds good to me!" Mark whooped.

"We need music!" Jay said putting on some tunes which made us cheer.

Mark and I moved back the sofas ... So we could dance.
