Riley POV:

Tyler hasn't called or texted me in the last few days. What is wrong with him. I was walking to my locker, and I stopped in front of it. I opened my locker and took my books out.

I took my phone out and looked at the last message I sent Tyler.

Riley 😘: I love you!

Boyfriend 😍 : okay

Just okay was the last thing he sent back. He didn't even tell me he loves me. I just wanted to beat my head against the locker. I just wanted to get in a ball and cry.

I had to be positive today. I had to be happy today. why you ask? we'll today we are having a Pep rally. I had to go to school in my uniform.

I wanted to text Tyler and ask if he was coming to the game today. But he probably wouldn't even respond.

I walked to the choir room. The last period before the pep rally. I walked in and sat by Malcolm. We have gotten closer over the last week.

"Hey Mal!" I said smiling and took my seat.

"Hey Gorgeous." he said kissing my cheek, I just blushed.

"Okay class today we will perform the song you had prepared for all week." he said clapping his hands "okay first up Riley Nelson." he said

I got up, and walked to the piano. I started the intro to 'Terrible Things' by Mayday Parade.

I just found out the mother I never had died. She was found dead, she died of cancer. It was sad that I would get to meet the women that helped make me.

***song to the side***

By the time I was your age, I'd give anything

To fall in love truly, was all I could think

That's when I met your mother, the girl of my dreams

The most beautiful woman, that I'd ever seen

She said, "Boy can I tell you a wonderful thing?

I can't help but notice, you're staring at me.

I know I shouldn't say this, but I really believe,

I can tell by your eyes that you're in love with me."

Now, son, I'm only telling you this

Because life can do terrible things.

Now, most of the time we'd have too much to drink

And we'd laugh at the stars and we'd share everything

Too young to notice, and too dumb to care

Love was a story that couldn't compare.

I said, "Girl, can I tell you a wonderful thing?

I made you a present with paper and string.

Open with care now, I'm asking you, please.

You know that I love you, will you marry me?"

Now, son, I'm only telling you this

Because life can do terrible things
