"Quit messing with your shirt." Bucky grumbled.

"Don't tell me what to do." She muttered, tugging at the hem of her gray t-shirt. It was actually one of Steve's Army shirts. All of her clothes were way too small for her. It was loose on her shoulders and the  short sleeves hung down her arms to just below her elbows. The material was pulled tight around her pregnant stomach. She had been fidgeting with the shirt since they left the airport. "I look like a cow."

"You look perfect, Alex." Steve assured her. His hand rubbed her aching back gingerly. Alex leaned into his shoulder.

"Will you rub my feet later?" Her voice was quiet and timid as she turned her head to look at him.

"Of course." He leaned down to kiss her temple. Bucky huffed and rolled his eyes. "What's with the attitude, Barnes?" Steve's gaze flickered over to the burly man who stood in the corner of the elevator. "Want me to rub your feet too?" He teased. Bucky huffed and rolled his eyes.

"He's just upset 'cause he had to leave that model that lives a few doors down from us for the weekend." Alex grinned.

"Model?" Steve repeated. Bucky let his hands fall to his sides.

"She's not a model. She works at a bank." Bucky grunted.

"Well she looks like a model."

"Why haven't I heard anything about this?" Steve furrowed his brows together.

"It's nothing serious, Steve. We're just talking." Bucky muttered under his breath.

"I could hear you guys just talking a couple days ago." Alex snickered. "When are you going to let us meet her?"

"I don't want her to meet you." Bucky grunted. Alex stuck her tongue out at him. "Not yet at least."

"When we get back, I want you to invite her over for dinner." Steve told his best friend. The Winter Soldier rolled his eyes yet again.

"Yes, dad."

The elevator doors opened and Bucky was the first to leave. Steve took a step but stopped moving when he noticed Alex didn't make any efforts to leave the elevator. Her hand that wasn't holding his was placed on the side of her stomach.

"Is everything okay?" He crinkled his brows at her.

"Yeah." She nodded her head, biting her lip. "Yeah. I'm-I guess I'm nervous."

"That's totally normal, sweetheart." He pressed a kiss to her cheek.

"Where are they?" The Black Widow could be heard from outside of the elevator. She had been the only one Steve told about Alex being pregnant.

"She's going to give herself a heart attack if she gets anymore excited." Alex softly giggled. She moved out of the elevator with her hand securely holding Steve's arm. As she came closer to her due date, her sense of balance had practically dissipated.

Steve hugged Natasha and then watched as she put her hands on Alex's swollen belly. With a proud smile on his lips, he studied his wife's reaction to the attention. She tried to put on a smile but he could see how uncomfortable she was. She nodded and only half-ass answered questions thrown her way.

"I understand you all are excited to see us but she needs some space." Steve's desire to protect her had only increased a considerable amount since learning of her pregnancy. While he knew none of them would ever intentionally hurt her, he still didn't feel comfortable having so many people so close to her.

"They're okay, Steve." Alex met his gaze and nodded her head once.

"I'm going to talk to Tony, if that's okay."
