Sucked Into Middle Earth...Just My Luck!

Alice and Karma both sat in their designated spots on the couch with a bowl of popcorn between them; they were both wearing matching grey sweat pants as well as black tank tops and each had a robe, Alice's in black and Karma's in deep purple. It was Friday night and they had finally moved into their new apartment, which was a major improvement on the shack they had lived in previously. Both of them had finally unpacked all the essentials and as a reward for a long days work they decided a movie night was in order.

"What movie shall we watch my dear old friend?" Alice asked in a bad imitation of a british accent.

"Shall I interest you in a frequent choosing of high caliber?" asked Karma playing along.

"Indeed you shall" laughed Alice as she spooned a large mouthful of popcorn into her mouth using her entire palm in a way somewhat reminiscent of a raccoon.

Karma crawled across the floor, apparently feeling too lazy to walk the 4 feet between the couch and the cabinet to retrieve their favourite trilogy of all time; Lord of the Rings!

"Should we watch it from the beginning?" asked Karma uncertainly.

"No lets watch it from the end and go backwards" said Alice in a voice dripping with sarcasm while she shot Karma a 'you-should-know-better' look.

"Don't give me that look young lady!" chided Karma.

Alice simply stuck her tongue out and so Karma leapt at her after putting the disc in the DVD player and pinned her to the arm of the chair.

"Go on, stick that tongue out again. I dare you!" Karma challenged holding her hand out ready to grab it.

Full of unwarranted self confidence Alice did indeed poke her tongue out again, convinced she was faster than Karma. Unfortunately for her she overestimated herself greatly and Karma pinched down on her tongue with two finger shouting "HA!"

"det guu (let go)" Alice pleaded to her friend.

"Now why should I do that?" asked Karma, somehow understanding that gibberish.

"Co I gib oo a eddo (coz I'll give you a freddo)" Alice bargained, knowing her chocoholic friend wouldn't be able to resist.

She was right of course and a moment later she was free to use her tongue again. She smiled at Karma cheekily.

"Now, wheres my freddo?" demanded Karma.

"Up your bum" Alice replied smugly.

"Alice" Karma warned.

"Fine! I'll go get it" said Alice defeated, she knew she was starting to push her friends patience.

She shuffled her way into the kitchen, which was very spacious compared to their old one, and opened the fridge to reveal a sugar-addicts wonderland; alternatively it could be a diabetics nightmare. There was everything in there from chocolate to choc chip cookies to whipped cream and even chocolate flavoured milk. You'd think anyone would die from so much junk but the girls basically survived on it. Well, for so long as their metabolisms would allow them to abuse it anyway.

"Milky-top, strawberry, caramel or regular?" Alice asked checking the flavours.

"Are you serious? Just bring the whole bag" said Karma snorting.

Alice obliged and sat on the couch again as Karma pressed play. Throughout the entire introduction they both quoted every line along with Galadriel. They had definitely watched this too many times...

"Do you want more popcorn?" Karma offered with the bowl.

"Sure!" answered Alice before leaning down and planting her entire face in the bowl before resurfacing with a overly large mouthful.
