"Rose has passed," Seraphina spoke as she walking into where Elijah was staying. He looked at her, a brow raised. "She was bitten by a werewolf."

"Can you go back? Make sure the doppelgänger isn't turned?" He questioned, showing no remorse for the dead vampire.

"Of course."

"You brought back John Gilbert? That was your big Save-Elena move?" Damon questioned in disbelief as Seraphina walked into the house.

"I went to go look for Isobel, and I got John instead," Stefan explained.

"Who's Isobel?" Seraphina questioned as she walked into the parlor.

"Elena's biological mom - and vampire."

"And John?"

"Elena's dad, and vampire hunter."

"Oh, that's really clever Stefan Salvatore," Seraphina scoffed, pouring herself a drink.

"He said he could help us, and we're desperate," Stefan countered, crossing his arms over his chest.

"We're not that desperate Stefan!" Damon exclaimed. "The guy tried to barbecue me!" Damon reminded his brother.

"Damon, Bonnie's new witch friend is working with Elijah, so we have to assume that the moonstone was never destroyed," Stefan explained.

The only reason they knew about Elijah's witch was Seraphina, Elijah told her how to fool the two of them, making them think she was on their side.

"Elena is putting all of her faith into some deal that she made with Elijah to keep everyone safe. I mean, do you trust Elijah?" Stefan began. "I don't trust him, he's an original, he can't be trusted."

"Oh, he's the one I would trust the most," Seraphina spat at Stefan. "Maybe he doesn't want to cooperate with you because you two idiots tried to kill him," She added, her arms folded over her chest.

"I'm still waiting for the part where John Gilbert is the answer," Damon sighed, ignoring the two, making Seraphina roll her eyes.

"He knew about the sacrifice. Isobel told him," Stefan finally added. "He said he knew of a way to keep Elena safe."

"And how do we do that?" Damon questioned.

"He's not talking, at least not to me, anyway," Stefan added, making Seraphina laugh.

"Great work, Stefan, top notch," Seraphina commented.

"As if I didn't have enough problems," Damon said before leaving the parlor.

"Hey, I'm sorry about Rose," Stefan called out.

"Whatever, I knew the woman for five minutes," Damon dismissed, making Seraphina scoff.

"And you cared about her after five minutes, though," Stefan mentioned. "I wonder what that means?" Stefan pondered.

"It means I care, Stefan. It means I'm changing and evolving into a man capable of greatness. You better watch your back," Damon said.

"Cheers," Seraphina said sarcastically, taking a sip of bourbon as Damon walked out.

--

"You must be John Gilbert," Seraphina greeted as she answered the door, making the older man look at her. "Seraphina Salvatore — the forgotten Salvatore." She winked, yelling for Damon.

"What do you want?" Damon asked harshly as he got to the door.

"We didn't finish our conversation," John mentioned, making Seraphina raise a brow.

"I'll bite."

"I've been thinking, personal feelings aside, Damon, I think you and Stefan will do all you can to protect Elena," John said as the three made their way to the parlor.

"I agree with that statement," Damon said.

"So, I come bearing gifts," John informed, setting down the bundle of cloth. He soon unraveled it, making Seraphina suck in a breath.

"What the hell is that?" Damon questioned.

"This is how you kill an original; In this vial is ask from a white oak tree, that dates back to the genesis of the originals," John explained, making Seraphina turn her nose up. "The dagger must be dipped into the ash, and plunged into their heart," John added.

"How do you know all of this, John?" Seraphina questioned him.

"Isobel, she's very good at finding out things," John replied. "But of course, you knew that," John said, glancing at Damon.

"Where is Isobel?" Damon asked.

"Let's just say if she accomplishes what she's attempting, Klaus will never set foot in Mystic Falls," John said. "Unless she's involved." He looked at Seraphina. "Where Elena's concerned, you and I are on the same side," John told Damon, turning to walk out.

"Damon," Seraphina breathed her blue eyes on the dagger. "I beg you not to use that blasted thing," She snarled.

"Seraphina, you have to pick a side, either your blood family or them," Damon growled at his sister, making her roll her eyes. "So, who are you going to choose? He's planning to kill Klaus as well, why even bother?"

"Forget it then."

--

"Hello, sister," Elijah greeted, making Seraphina smile.

"Elijah," She began. "I know what they're planning," She added, pouring herself a drink.

"Oh?"

"Damon has the dagger and white oak ash," She informed. "I don't know how they're going to get near you but they have it," She rambled.

"Thank you for telling me this," Elijah said sincerely. "You don't need to be a spy anymore," He joked, making her snort.

"Damon gave me an ultimate anyhow — you or them."

"Who are you choosing?"

"Well, you've been in my life longer than they have. You helped me transition from spoiled brat to independent vampire," She explained, making him smile.

"Alright, I get it, let's get started."
