"Whoa," Seraphina spoke as she saw Klaus huddled at the piano bench. "What happened?"
"I need more time," He replied frantically, making Seraphina furrow her brows. "Stop hounding me!" He roared.
"You've been hounding me for about a week, I think you can handle this," She spoke harshly, kneeling down to look him in the eye. "What happened to you, love?" She questioned, caressing his cheek.
"Seraphina," He sighed, leaning into her touch. "Is it really you?" He questioned, resulting in Seraphina to give him a look, causing him to muster up enough strength to push himself up on to the piano bench. "Prove it to me." Seraphina stood up, a scoff leaving her lips.
"If you don't believe it's truly me, then I'll just be on my way," She turned around walking back towards the door.
"Wait!" Klaus yelled, making Seraphina turn to face him. "Silas. He stabbed me with the white oak stake," Klaus explained, moving his hand to where he had been digging at. "There's a little piece of it stuck inside me."
"Who the hell is Silas and why would he attack you?" She questioned.
"Well, I was in no position to ask questions," He laughed anxiously. "Suffice it so say, I'm hurt," He continued. "So, you can understand why I called you." He looked at Seraphina, who stood in front of him with an eyebrow raised.
"You've been calling me since I stepped foot out of this blasted town," She reminded. "I decided to actually answer, to see what kind of foolishness you were going to come up with this time." She smiled, making him glare at her. "What do you want me to do?"
"Well, it's quite simple, really. I need you to cut the stake out of me." He looked over at a pair of shears that laid on the floor, the blades already bloody.
"Oh, I love being the surgeon," She scoffed, picking up the shears. "Stand up, turn around," She instructed, helping her husband stand up. He turned around, bracing himself against the piano. Seraphina began digging around in his back, gritting her teeth as she looked for the splinter. "Klaus, love, there is nothing in here." She began digging further, making Klaus hell out in pain and banging his hand against the piano. "I'm sorry!" She repeated about three times before she got fed up. She pulled the shears out of his back, another yell escaping his lips.
"What the hell are you doing?" He yelled at her and she made her way to the couch, sitting down. "I can feel the splinters moving towards my heart." He began to dig into his shoulder blade again. "Help me!"
"I told you, there's nothing in there," She reminded, looking at her husband for a moment before texting Elijah.
"Help me! Now!" He growled at her, making her stand up and walk over to her husband.
"You're not going to talk to me like I'm one of your hybrids," She sneered, her eyes turning dark. "I've helped you all I could, if it's in there, it's in there and you're going to die soon."
"Sera," He whispered.
"No, don't Sera me! I'm tired of you treating me like this. We've been together for over a hundred years and not once did you treat me the bad, however, once you broke this curse, I was placed at the bottom of your importance list," She finished, turning around to leave Klaus.
"Don't turn your back on me!" He yelled as he appeared in front of her.
"I should've done it ages ago," She snarled, her face inching closer to his. She looked at his face, watching as his face dropped slightly.
"It's gone."
"What?" She questioned.
"The pain, the pain is gone," He explained, gesturing towards his shoulder. "Oh, I see, it was never there," He sighed in annoyance. "He got in my head," He spoke, pointing to his head. "Silas — got inside my head." He grabbed Seraphina's hands, squeezing them gently. "You took my mind off of it," He whispered, pulling her closer to him and wrapping his arms around her. "You brought me back, Seraphina."
"If Silas can make you, of all people, believe that you're dying, what can he do to the rest of us?"
—
"What do you want, Nik?" Rebekah questioned through the phone.
"An update on our search for the elusive cure," Klaus responded as he paced in front of the fireplace.
"Let's just say that things have gotten complicated," Rebekah said. "In fact, why don't you speak to one of those complications."
"Complication speaking," Elijah spoke, making Seraphina chuckle lightly at his annoyed tone.
"Big brother," Klaus greeted, a grin on his face. "At last you join the fray."
"Somebody had to take charge. And now that I have, I've got the cure and I'm bringing it back to Mystic Falls," Elijah explained.
"With a long list of demands, I assume," Klaus stated.
"Not that long," Elijah assured.
"Come home, brother. We'll settle this like family." Klaus hung up the phone, glancing at Seraphina.
"You look happy," She mentioned as she noticed his gaze.
"Are you staying?" Klaus questioned, making her shrug.
"I'm not sure. I have a lot to do," She mumbled, standing up from the couch. It wasn't false, she did have stuff to do.
Seraphina told Elijah she would go and try to find Rosalind in New Orleans since the whole cure thing was going around Mystic Falls and she didn't want anyone to shove it down her throat.
"I'm sorry, for everything," He said, calling her out of her thoughts.
"Is the Niklaus Mikaelson, apologizing?" She questioned, a smirk on her face. "I don't think that apology was convincing enough."
"Well," He sighed, using his speed to step in front of her. "Let's see if there's another way."
