"I can live with that."
"Well, I can't. When we staked Finn, we discovered that killing an original vampire killed its entire bloodline," Stefan explained, making Seraphina look at Klaus, who was looking at her. "Now, I don't want to know which one of you I'm descended from, but I'd really rather not find out by dying so why don't we just find the stake, destroy it, so we can all be safe?"
"So, the fate of the entire vampire race depends on you finding the stake, and to get it, we need you to pass out," Klaus explained, trying to get it in his head as he looked at Alaric. "Which means I feel totally justified doing this." Klaus rushed to Alaric, breaking his neck. "There," He sighed, turning to Seraphina and Stefan. "Sleeping like a baby."
--
"A little gratuitous don't you think, Stefan? I would have been more gentle," Klaus said once he saw how bloodied up Alaric was.
"I'm going to take him to the caves," Rebekah announced as she held onto Alaric's shirt. "You're going to go inside and fetch me the stake and if you think you can hide, you're wrong." Rebekah smiled before pulling him towards the door, leaving the three.
"And then, there was one. I know about your brother's little mission to Denver, he failed," Klaus informed. "Not that that's news anymore."
"So, what are you going to do now, Klaus?" Stefan questioned. "Are you going to kill me?"
"I haven't decided yet," Klaus said, looking at Seraphina who stood at the fireplace.
"Oh, sure you have," Stefan replied. "See, you've had every chance and every excuse imaginable to do it, but yet you haven't. Which means you don't want to."
"You know something, you're right. See, I'm waiting for my old friend to come back," Klaus said. "By the looks of it, he's just beneath the surface waiting to come out and play." Klaus chuckled. "Isn't that right, ripper?"
"I've been fighting that part of myself, thinking that if I repress it, it would go away," Stefan paused. "But it won't, and now that I accepted it, it can't control me." Klaus's smile faded at Stefan's words. "And neither can you. So, unless you're going to stake me -- why don't you get the hell out of my house."
--
Seraphina curled up on the couch in the mansion, her mind circling around how if Klaus get staked, she, along with many of other vampires were dead. Nervousness swirled through her as her mind raced, not even noticing Rebekah showing up.
"What took you so long?" Klaus questioned as Rebekah showed up.
"Alaric didn't want to hand over the stake," Rebekah replied, making Seraphina snap out her trance. "Luckily, I'm quite the charmer," She added, holding up the stake and walked close Klaus and Seraphina.
"That's it?"
"Last of the white oak stakes that can kill us," Rebekah said. "Do you want to do the honors, or shall I?" Rebekah questioned, pointing the stake at Klaus. Klaus turned away from the painting, grabbing the stake and throwing it into the fire. "Well, that's that, then."
"Pack your bags, we're leaving," Klaus announced, making Seraphina turn to him.
"Today?"
"Why not? There's nothing keeping us here, we'll grab the doppelganger and be off by sunset."
"But tonight's the decade dance," Rebekah mentioned.
"So?"
"So, I'm head of the committee, we have to go," Rebekah argued.
"I'm not going to any dance," Klaus said quickly.
"Come on Klaus, it will be fun," Seraphina interjected, standing up and walking over to him. "I heard it was the twenties, we always had fun the twenties," She added, wrapping an arm around his, squeezing it lightly.
"Please?" Rebekah pleaded with Seraphina. "I have big plans for tonight. Just go for me." She fluttered her eyelashes and pursed her lips in a pouting manner.
"Okay, fine," Klaus agreed, making both Rebekah and Seraphina smile. "One last hurrah."
"One last hurrah, Nik."
--
"Rebekah, call me back immediately. I only came to this ridiculous dance because you and Seraphina begged me to, and now you're nowhere to be found," Klaus said as he and Seraphina walked out of the school, their hands intertwined. A sigh left his lips as the two stopped, noticing the salt line that stretched around the entire school. "What is this?"
"Your mother's back," Stefan informed. Klaus and Seraphina looked at each other, a soft sigh leaving her bright red lips as the two began walking back into the school.
"She does this all the time, right?" Jamie questioned as Bonnie chanted in Latin.
"What's taking so long?" Klaus questioned. "All boundary spells have a loophole."
"Klaus, shut up," Seraphina grumbled, making Klaus look at his wife. "That's why she's taking so long," She added, her attention turning back to Bonnie.
"People are walking right out of the dance, past the barrier," Matt informed as he walked into the room.
"Well, if Matt and I can leave, we could stop Esther ourselves. We just gotta find out where she is," Jeremy suggested.
"Suicide, Jeremy," Stefan groaned. Klaus rushed up to Jamie, grabbing him by the throat.
"Suicide would be disappointing me," He stated. "Now work your magic, witch, or I'll start killing people you fancy," He threatened.
"Let him go," Bonnie demanded.
"Not until you get us out of here," Klaus countered.
"Klaus, let him go," Seraphina growled slightly, making Klaus turn his head to look at her, a brow raised.
"Ah, don't be stupid, Klaus. Bonnie doesn't give a damn about us," Stefan reminded, walking closer to where Klaus stood. "The only reason she's helping right now is to save Caroline and Tyler. If you start killing people she cares about she'll tell us all to go to hell," Stefan told. Klaus looked at Bonnie, then Jamie, before releasing Jamie.
