"Elijah, being a human means a fresh start," Rebekah began. "I can grow old and have a family and fill my days with meaning, knowing that each one matters."
"Well, that was poetic," Klaus chuckled.
"Well, if you can provide us with a more compelling reason for the cure, Klaus, please," Elijah said as he and Seraphina sat in front of the siblings.
Elijah and Seraphina were honorary mediators when it came to Rebekah and Klaus's squabbles.
"Silas can appear as anyone," Klaus began, leaning towards the table. "He got inside my thoughts, convinced me I was dying. He will torment me until I give him the cure."
"And in doing so, he will break down the wall to the other side," Rebekah interjected.
"So, it doesn't trap him there when he dies," Klaus informer them. "He wants to reunite with his lost soulmate. You, of all lovesick fools, should applaud his devotion," Klaus spoke to Elijah.
"He will open the floodgates for every supernatural being that has ever died," Rebekah reminded.
"Including our dear brothers Kol and Finn," Klaus added. "We'll have our family back."
"Please! You hated Kol," Rebekah scoffed. "And you kept Finn in a box for most of his life."
"Elijah, Seraphina, please," Klaus motioned for them to speak.
"Your personal discomfort might not be sufficient reason for putting the entire world in jeopardy, Klaus," Elijah spoke, looking at Seraphina.
"I agree, discomfort isn't something that we should destroy the other side over."
"I think our sister deserves a shot at happiness," Elijah added, looking at Seraphina who nodded her head in agreement.
"Tell me you two are joking," Klaus said in annoyance, making Seraphina raise a brow. "Tell me you're not dating me to an eternity of torture."
"We've made our decision," Elijah concluded, making Klaus stand up and walk over to Rebekah, bending down to her ear.
"When you're sick and dying and you beg for my blood, I will laugh in your face and compel you to forget me," Klaus growled, walking out of the room.
"I'll go talk to him," Seraphina mumbled, standing up. Elijah held out his hand, making Seraphina sit back down.
"Where's the cure?" Rebekah questioned after she cleared her throat.
"Rebekah, it's no secret that you are impulsive, emotional, and at times morally questionable," Elijah said. "Prove to us this isn't just another one of your whims, that you know precisely what you are giving up here."
"Fine. Anything," Rebekah agreed.
"I want you to live a day as a human. This day, no vampire privileges — no strength, no compulsion, no nothing," Elijah explained. "If you succeed and still believe that this is what you want, the cure is yours." Elijah turned to Seraphina, giving her a nod. She smiled lightly, getting up and walking out of the room.
—
"Klaus! Seraphina!" Caroline called, making Seraphina pop out of a room.
"Hello." She greeted. "Don't bother Klaus right now, he's in no mood for company," She mumbled, looking at the room Klaus was in.
"Well, I'm sorry he's having personal issues, but I have a real crisis on my hands," Caroline informed. "Elena stole my prom dress!" Caroline exclaimed. "I went to pick it up, and the tailor said that somebody else already did, and when I ask who, she said she couldn't remember."
Klaus looked at the room, looking at Seraphina and Caroline before he looked back at his wife. "You're handling this, right?" Klaus questioned.
"Yes," Seraphina giggled slightly, making Klaus disappear back into the room. "Continue Caroline."
"The vervain is out of the town water supply. She was compelled," Caroline concluded, a laugh coming from the room where Klaus was. "It is not funny!" She yelled.
"Easy now," Seraphina mumbled, hoping to calm down the blonde. "He knows it's not."
"Then he should stop laughing!" Caroline exclaimed as the laughing continued. Caroline scoffed, making Seraphina gesture for her to continue. "Look, I know that prom isn't important to you two, but it's important to me," Caroline explained.
"Surely finding another dress is well within your substantial vampire capabilities," Klaus chimed in.
"But I don't want another dress," Caroline whined. "I want to look hot, like Princess Grace of Monaco hot," Caroline added, looking at Seraphina. "So could you please go back into your creepy trophy case of family collectibles and dive me out something or royal caliber?" She begged Seraphina.
"Let me see what I can do."
—
"Is that your wedding dress?" Caroline questioned as she looked at the white dress. Caroline pulled it out gently, examining the white silk fabric.
"Yes," Seraphina answered as she unzipped a dress bag. "You can't wear it," She joked.
"When did you two get married?" Caroline questioned.
"August 5, 1870," Seraphina answered. "It was five days after my birthday," She chuckled, turning to look at Caroline. "I wanted to wait until I was twenty-three instead of sixteen." Seraphina turned back around, zipping up the dress bag and pushing it to the side. Seraphina pulled the next bag, unzipping it to reveal the cream-colored dress, the beading just how she remembered. "I found your dress."
"Thank you!" Caroline exclaimed, pulling the vampire into a hug.
"I'll do your hair, if you'd like," Seraphina offered as she got out of the hug. Caroline nodded, making Seraphina pull her towards the vanity chair.
"How old were you when you met Klaus?" Caroline questioned.
"Sixteen," Seraphina answered. "My father sent me to New Orleans after her killed Damon and Stefan. I was wondering around and Elijah found me and brought me back to their home."
"Oh," Caroline whispered. "Did you just willingly die so you could live forever or did you -"
"I died of tuberculosis, back then they called it consumption," Seraphina explained. "I died just a month after our marriage." Seraphina finished up Caroline's hair. "I know what you're going through, with Tyler."
"Really?" Caroline whispered as she stood up.
"Of course. I wanted to marry Caleb Maxwell, he was so handsome," Seraphina sighed, pulling the dress out of the bag. "Matt Donovan is his descendant, I believe. They look very similar."
"Oh my God, you were in love with basically Matt Donovan?" Caroline gasped, a giggle escaping her lips.
"Yes." Seraphina smiled. "I sometimes blame myself for following my brothers that night because I feel like if I didn't I would be nothing but dust right now," Seraphina explained, helping Caroline get into the dress. "But I'm also happy that I followed them because I would've never found Klaus, or well, he never would've found me." Seraphina zipped the dress up, squeezing her arm lightly. "Now, go have the time of your life, and snap Elena's neck for me."
The Originals will be up soon, I'm super excited!!
