North's P.O.V
I felt something cold hit my face, I groaned and tried to slap it away, but then I heard a loud giggle coming from right beside me, I wanted to open my eyes but only one peak caused them to burn like fire. I felt a headache come on, but I didn't honestly care, I just wanted to know what the hell was going on.
"Finally awake?!" I heard the very happy voice of Rhys speak in my head, to be honest, it was nice to hear his voice again, it was comforting. "Hey!! You ok?" I asked and I heard him howl proudly, "I'm great, all that rest really helped!" he spoke cheerfully which made me want to laugh.
"Where's Jack?" I asked, suddenly thinking about my other voice, "Right here...." he sounded weak and tired, "Are you ok?" I heard a hum in agreement, "A little weak from the infection, but I'm alright..." I smiled to myself, "Good, I'm glad your both ok" I heard them both cheer. "How long have we been out?" I questioned.
"Only three days, less than they expected," Rhys said with a chuckle, I smiled, "But then again, when have we ever done the expected..." Jack commented with a small laugh. I chuckled again and then attempted to open my eyes again, but once again the light burned, but I forced it this time.
It was all white and glowed, but once my vision cleared, I was staring at the ceiling of my room, I smiled. I was home, finally.
"Hey, you're awake!" I turned to see Klaus standing next to my bed wrapping up some bandages that weren't used, he smiled warmly at me. I chuckled and the went to sit up and leaned back against the headboard, "Had a good rest?" he asked placing the medical stuff in his bag, I nodded, "It was nice".
He nodded, "Jack and Rhys are back so that's good" I commented, but he only looked at me confused, "Jack?" then I remembered they knew nothing about what went on back in the underworld, I laughed slightly to myself at being dumb enough not to explain, but I guess a lot was going on so it's not really my fault, kinda.
Before I could come up with an explanation, the door was slowly opened and Miah walked in and smiled as she saw me, "Good, you're awake-" she paused and sat down on the end of the bed, "How are you feeling?" I nodded and smiled, "A lot better, everything feels ok" she nodded and smiled once again.
Klaus then placed a hand on my shoulder, "I'm glad you're ok son, but you've got a lot of explaining to do" I chuckled and nodded, understanding. Miah smiled softly, "Let's get you downstairs, you need some food and water" I nodded and pulled the blanket off and swung my legs over the side of the bed.
"Are you ok to walk?" Miah asked standing to help me, I nodded and smiled, I felt so refreshed and happy, It felt like I could run forever and not get tired at all. I then walked smoothly out of the room with both Miah and Klaus following behind me, "Anything happen while I was asleep?" I questioned.
Miah shrugged walking alongside me, "Not really, other than writing to the council about the Connor issue and asking them to look into the Vladimir's and such, that's pretty much it" I nodded to her and smiled, "If they take Connor out, who's gonna be Alpha?" Miah chuckled dryly, "Don't know, that's for them decide not us".
I smirked, "Well you've got my vote" she laughed a little and placed a hand on my shoulder and gave it a tight squeeze. "Where's Cony?" I asked suddenly thinking about my mate who I haven't seen in forever. "After you fell asleep, she's been keeping herself pretty busy, but always came to visit a couple of times a day," she said.
Then Klaus walked over, "Yeah, she'd even help me sometimes when patching you up, then she'd stay a little after I left" I smiled warmly and nodded, "Most of the time she's been in the nursery with the newborns, she's always liked kids" Miah said pointing down a hallway past the infirmary.
I nodded and began walking down the hallway, keeping a fast pace, "I missed mate" Rhys said with happiness, I smiled and nodded, I missed her too, so much. Soon we came to a door that was wide open with yellow curtains covering the door. I heard a soft voice humming a lullaby, I slowed my pace and walked over to the door.
I then peeked inside and saw my beautiful mate cradling a small baby wrapped in a pink blanket in her arms sitting in a rocking chair. Her eyes were glued on the infant as she hummed a beautiful song and gently rocked the baby back and forth.
I smiled warmly at the sight, I guess she really liked babies. I then gently knocked on the door, trying not to wake the little one. Constance then stopped humming and looked up from the baby and smiled widely when she saw me and stood from the rocking chair, still holding the baby tightly.
She walked over and wrapped one arm around me tightly, I hugged her back and kissed her head, "How long have you been awake" she asked quietly pulling apart and holding the child properly, I smiled, "Twenty minutes at the most" she laughed a little and kissed my cheek, "I'm really happy you're ok".
She spoke sweetly, I smiled again and placed a hand on her cheek, "I'm just glad to have you back" she smiled again and kissed my hand. Then a sudden cry broke and destroyed this beautiful moment, not ok.
Constance immediately looked down and saw the little one bawling her eyes out and began to shush her rocking back and forth and bouncing a little. "Sorry" I mouth stepping back, she playfully glared and went and sat down, but the poor thing was crying her eyes out, making me feel a little bad.
"You did this, now come help" Constance demanded with a smile, I sighed and walked over and stood next to the chair, Conny stood up and said passing the baby to me. I then began to panic, "Relax North, you're doing fine" she said with a smile adjusting my arms around the baby.
"This is Rose, she was born yesterday, I offered to take care of her while her mother rests and he father goes back to warrior training" she spoke tightening the blanket around the little one. Soon she started to calm down and opened her eyes, they were a light blue and even though baby's eyes are blue when they're born, I could tell hers would stay blue.
I smiled down at her, "Hey Rose" I spoke in a quiet voice, she cooed and smiled a little, "She likes you" Conny said stepping back and smiling, "Well aren't you a cute one" I said rubbing her head a little, she yawned a little making me laugh a little, then she closed her eyes and went to sleep, "Look at you natural baby whisperer".
Conny said with a bright smile, I smiled and shook my head walking over to the crib and gently placing her down and stepping back slowly, afraid to wake the little one. Conny smiled and took my hand, "She'll be asleep for a couple of hours" I nodded and we then left the room and walked down the hall.
I guess I could compare this moment to last week when I felt so miserable.
