"Darkness cannot drive out darkness: only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate: only love can do that."

North's P.O.V
I stared in disbelief as I watched a man who claimed to be my wolf walkout from the trees and enter this snowy area. But he didn't see me as a stranger, in fact, he acted as if he had seen me many times before, and maybe he has, I don't know how this whole thing works. He smiled at me and laughed a little.
"You must be confused, I understand" he paused and looked around, "I was too when I first got here" he wore a lazy grin that I always pictured he'd have, strange. "R-Rhys?" I questioned taking a step forward, we mated perfectly in height, but he took over in the league of visible strength. He smiled again and nodded confidently.
"As I said, it's really nice to finally meet you on even ground North" I nodded in agreement, I had always wondered what Rhys and Jack would look like, or if they were even people. I assumed they were just voices inside my head that lived in darkness. Then like he read my mind, Rhys commented quick.
"Little off on that thought, Jack lives in the darkness" he corrected, making me even more confused, I frowned and asked, "Speaking of that, where's Jack?" he shrugged, "Don't know, never seen him" I raised an eyebrow at him. How has he never seen the other voice inside my head? is that even possible, they live in the same space.
He laughed again, "This place is wider than you think, some parts are light, like this one-" he raised his arms and looked around, embracing the snow that fell on him, "And there are the dark places, that's where I assume Jack lives, I've only ever heard his voice and heard movements" he shrugged, "That's it".
I looked around and mumbled, "Strange, I never picture anything like this when I was told I was coming here" he chuckled again and walked over to stand next to me. That's when I got a really good look at his appearance, his hair was black like mine, but cut shorter and thin, and his eyes were deep gold, like a sunset.
His skin was tan like mine again, but his face shape was different, we definitely weren't twins, but could pass off as brothers. I guess he noticed and laughed, then he spoke, "This place was created by you, whether you knew it or not" he spoke seriously looking up at the grey sky.
"I just woke up here" his voice was low and sad, guess he must be lonely here. He then turned to me, "You've been here before too" I looked at him in shock and he only nodded, "Yeah, when Jack first appeared, you were in the darker places when he took over". I nodded, understanding a little, but I was still confused.
"So you watch and hear everything from in here?" I asked, which he nodded to, "Yep, I assume Jack does too, but as I said, I've never seen him only hear a voice" I laughed a little, "Welcome to my world" he chuckled with a tight smile. Even though we've known each other for what felt like years, it was almost as if we were meeting for the first time.
"North" he spoke, I then turned to him, "I understand why you came here and all-" he paused and sighed, "But I don't think you should have" his tone was low as if he was trying to whisper. "Don't get me wrong-" he raised his hands in defense, "I'm glad to meet you, but I'm not too sure about Jack".
I raised my eyebrow, "I don't trust him-" he began, but then another voice cut him off, a voice I would recognize anywhere. "Now don't be harsh Rhys.." Rhys grumbled and glared in the direction of the voice. "Jack?" I called out hoping for an answer, "The one and only North.." he spoke in his normal strange tone.
"I"m glad you came.." he spoke, I then heard his footsteps behind the trees, "I've wanted to speak to you face to face for so long.." his voice sounded desperate, which made me want to question him. Then he turned his attention to Rhys, "I understand your lack of trust towards me, Wolf, I do not blame you..".
Rhys only nodded in acknowledgment, "I have been the cause of many frustrations, and I apologize to you both.." he spoke in a sad voice walking around the trees. "I truly meant no harm.." he paused again and stood still for a long time. "I've wanted to tell you the truth for so long, but I knew I had to wait..".
Both Rhys and I glanced at each other with confused looks, what the hell was Jack talking about?
"You've been so brave, I'm proud.," he spoke like a father would to his son, then suddenly, another shadow stepped into a light, and his face terrified me to the core. "I know you are scared North, and you have every right to be but.." he was cut off once again to sudden rubble that shook the earth.
All of us jumped and stared at the sky above us in fear, then suddenly light began to surround me just under my feet. "It's time for you to wake up North.." Jack commented with a smile on his face. Rhys still shocked nodded in agreement, but I shook my head, "But I just met you and-" Jack then raised his hand.
"And you will meet us again, we are here for you North and always will be, till the bitter end.." Rhys nodded again, "We are here to make sure you not only win but live" he spoke with determination. "I don't know about Jack, but that's what us wolves are for, to keep our Humans alive and safe" he chuckled dryly at the end.
"Just because you cannot see us, doesn't mean we aren't there, have a little faith in us will you?.." I smiled and nodded, "I'll see you both again" I spoke as the light covered my eyes and took me back to the land of the living, "Goodbye North, don't be afraid of what is to come..",
that was the last thing I heard before I was greeted with darkness.
But I only had one thing on my mind as I woke up once again
Why the hell do Jack and I look exactly the same!!??
