To see is not enough
Our mind seeks to touch
To feel the thunder
And smell the wonder
That's embedded in our minds
Age worthless without time
Gone at the ping of a wind chime
Sleep is worth no dime
To explore the riches of the mind

"I've been fighting to be who I am all my life. What's the point of being who I am, if I can't have the person who was worth all the fighting for?" ― Stephanie Lennox

Miah's P.O.V
North was still under when it happened, maybe if he was awake the outcome would have been different. But I guess this meeting was bound to happen, whether North was awake or not, I suppose I'm just trying to convince myself that the situation could have been different, but I know that's not the case.
It all happened so fast, I still cannot comprehend just how they got in without anyone noticing. They must have a powerful witch on their side, something even Constance, Nymeria or even Ashby couldn't keep up with. But they still got in and took North from us, but they didn't kill anyone surprisingly.
As I fought alongside Connor and the pack, I was sure we would lose some members due to the intruder's wrath and determination. But they only took North and nothing else, after the fight I was left split in two, I didn't know why or how but I felt something when they entered the packhouse.
I felt something I haven't felt in years, it delighted and frightened me at the same time. My heartstrings were yanked as I ran all around the territory desperately searching for him. I had assumed him dead all these years, but my heart was telling me that was not the case, he was here and I needed to find him.
My wolf Mavis cried out for his wolf Nash but no matter how fast I went, I always seemed to just miss him when I entered a room. I was on a nonstop rampage looking for my lost mate Ajax, but all that came crashing down when I entered the room North was put in after he went under. When the alarms went off signaling the pack was under attack, Conny went to protect North.
But when I got there, all I found was an empty bed and an unconscious Constance who laid crumpled on the floor. I then threw the thought of my mate being here out the window and ignored my wolf, I immediately took Constance to Klaus who already had an army of patients to take care of.
So I left her in the care of one of his nurses, then I went outside to help repair the damage done but the intruders. Connor was nowhere in sight which concerned me, but I didn't have time to be worried about him, I sent trackers out to the forest to locate any type of unordinary scent and report back.
Ashby was helping Klaus in the infirmary after he had been knocked out by a strong blast of magic, but he was quick to recover. Nymeria is currently casting a protection spell at the edge of our territory just incase. She too was knocked out during the fight, but considering how powerful she is, she made a smooth recovery.
I could tell everyone was steaming with anger including myself when it was discovered North was taken by the intruders, Alec ordered an emergency meeting with the other Alpha's close to our territory and he even alerting the council. He demanded in Connor's name that they send someone out here to assist us considering they did nothing before.
While I let Alec take over considering he was Beta, I went to look for Connor, I was slightly worried that he was taken too, but I recalled seeing him wandering after the intruders who kidnapped North had left. So I picked up his scent and went after him, if this pack needs anything right now, it's their Alpha.
And as much as I hate to say it, Connor is all we got right now. I ventured into the west forest and followed his scent. As I was looking for him, I wondered what got him so upset, what his ego hurt by intruders entering the territory without him knowing? or did he see something he shouldn't have?
I won't know till I find him, and as much as I hate him, I cannot let any of my family and pack members suffer. I soon found him at the river's edge staring off into space with a blank look on his face that I have never seen before.
I frowned at his look, he was clearly upset but if Connor is anything, it's stubborn, he's never been one to sit and take a hit. So that's why I don't understand his attitude right now, I sighed and walked over and sat down next to him.
I remained silent as he turned to me, I wanted to give him time to tell me what happened, as much as he annoys me, I want to at least try to help him. After a few minutes of comfortable silence, he finally spoke, "I saw her Miah" he spoke making me confused.
I raised an eyebrow and turned to him, "Saw who Connor?" I kept my voice gentle, I could tell he was in a fragile state. He swallowed and whipped his sweat-covered forehead, he looked more than ready to break down right here and now.
"She looked the same, just like before" he mumbled with a sad smile, making me even more curious as to who he was talking about. "I don't understand-" he cut me off, "But she's not a witch, so I thought that it couldn't be her, no way in hell she'd be like that" tears began to run down his face.
"But how could someone look so much like her, how can they look the same when they are different?" he wondered with a quiet voice, I didn't say anything, just listened to his broken words. "But I felt the pull, the pull that can never be replaced or taken away by anyone, I felt it, Miah".
I looked at him again, remembering the feeling I had before, Mavis cried out at the memory of feeling our mates presents but not finding him. He then laughed dryly and shook his head, "I can't believe this happened" he spoke more to himself than me.
"But she was beautiful, but then again, My Anika was always beautiful"
