North's P.O.V

I smiled as I pulled away from Nymeria, I finally knew who I was, after all this time filled with confusion and fear, I finally understand, for once I understand something completely. Nymeria then placed a hand on my shoulder and forced back her tears and smiled, "I know you've been through a lot today, but Ashby doesn't know you're his grandson, he still thinks you're in the human world".

She explained, "So what I'm asking is, would you like to meet your grandfather?" I was at a loss for words, I didn't even make the connection when she was telling the story. Ashby, the man who's been trying to help me, the one who looked at me with such fascination was my grandfather.

The more I think about it, the more I feel for him. He's a broken man who lost his son, grandson, and daughter-in-law all in less than a year. I guess that's how Nymeria managed to convince him to come here and help me, it was a chance to avenge his son, the son that was killed for simply saving his child.

My father died saving me, and his death killed my mother, I couldn't help but feel guilt at the thought. "Don't think like that, they loved you more than anything..." Jack spoke to me and I sighed, "You cannot fault yourself on things you cannot control..." he reminded me. I nodded in understanding and whipped my eyes.

Nymeria then stood and sighed, "Do you want me to go get him?" I nodded, he needs to know the truth. She then left the room, leaving me alone to think about what I just heard, how do I process this? How should I feel?

Questions flowed through my mind, wondering if I should be sad, mad, frustrated, I don't know. That's the only way I can describe what I'm feeling, I don't know. I almost didn't even notice the door opening and two people walking in because my mind felt so cluttered. Ashby grabbed a chair and placed it right in front of me and sat down while Nymeria resumed her spot next to me.

"what's this about?" the older man asked with a confused stare, Nymeria sighed and leaned forward, "You've treated me with nothing but kindness Ash and for that, I'll always be grateful, which is why I'm so sorry.." her voice faded out with sadness. Ashby frowned and placed a hand on Nymeria's knee.

"What are you talking about Mira?" Mira? interesting nickname. "You asked me when I came back where he was and how he was doing, do you remember?" he nodded quickly, urging her to continue, "I lied to you Ashby and I'm sorry, so sorry" her eyes refused to meet his gaze.

A look of horror landed on the old man's face, "What do you mean? What's happened!?" he panicked shaking Nymeria's knee harshly. "Your grandson, Damon and Nadi's son was renamed twice, Noah Carlos Summers, t-then North Lunar, the tribrid" she finished and then it was suddenly quiet.

I could tell Ashby was having trouble processing this, his eyes then drifted to me, his eyes wide as full moons. I took a shaky deep breath and looked down at my feet, not sure what to do. Ashby then stood up from his chair and walked over to me, he leaned down and held my head in his hands.

He gently twisted my neck in different directions to get different angles and to my surprise, a warm smile came upon his face and he chuckled dryly, "And here I was thinking I must be crazy" he paused and laughed again, "But I'd know that black hair and warm smile anywhere" he then stood and pulled me into a hug.

He then pulled away again and looked over at Nymeria, "It's ok Mira, I understand-" he then moved towards her and sat down next to her, "Don't be sad, you brought him home" he looked over at me and smiled widely, "You brought my grandson and your nephew home, my son and Nadi's child home and found him a family".

Nymeria laughed and wrapped her arms around Ashby, he then pulled away and held her shoulders, as she began to cry even more than before. "You did Mira!" he praised, "You kept your promise to them" he wrapped her in a tight hug again and kissed her head.

He then stood again and sat by me and placed a hand on my shoulder, "You look just like him, he bet you would" he laughed and looked off in the distance as he recalled the memory. "When you were born, Nadia and Damon had a bet of who you would look like the most when you grew up" he laughed, "Guess Damon won" he squeezed my shoulder.

"But I do see a bit of your mother, just a bit" I nodded with a smile not sure what to say at this point. "I-I don't know-" I began feeling awkward just staying quiet, but Ashby shook his head and smiled, "I know and it's ok, we've got a lifetime to talk North".

I felt like a sponge having to absorb all this information at once, but I was more than happy to know all of this, not only did I learn of my past but I found my grandfather in the process.

The only thing that could make me happier is-. The door suddenly opens and my red-headed beauty walked in slowly like she wasn't sure if she was interrupting, but little did she know she had the best timing possible. I immediately stood from my seat and walked over to her and wrapped my arms tightly around her.

she returned the jester and held me tightly, "I missed you, so much" she mumbled and kissed my cheek, "I did too, more than you know" I replied.

I'm ok I guess?

But I think that's the best place to be right now.
