Markus' POV
I watched as androids surrounded me and Melody.
"Who are you?" I asked, my tone cautious.
"Fugitives. Just like you. My name is Josh."
"I'm Simon," The android from before spoke up.
"North," A female android said.
"This is Jericho?" Melody asked.
"It's a refuge for those who don't want to be slaves anymore..." Josh explained.
"And you knew that only an android could follow the trail, didn't you?" I asked.
"Only those who are like us can find Jericho..." Josh smiled softly.
"If you could decipher the signs, it's because one of us trusted you enough to give you the key," Simon clarified.
Flashback
"There's a place where we can be free! Find Jericho!"
Present
"How many are you?" Melody asked.
"There are nineteen of us still in working order... The rest were damaged escaping their masters..." North answered.
"Many tried to reach Jericho... Few succeed... Humans have little pity for our kind..." Josh said sadly," I understand how you feel...but we have more freedom here than you ever did."
"Maybe I was never really free... Maybe I was only what my master wanted me to be... And now I need to decide who I really am..." I said.
"Dude, Carl literally wanted you to be your own man. What are you talking about?" Melody asked, confused.
"She's not an android?" North sounded angry.
"No, but I'm not Human either. I can help your people. I've always thought it was wrong how you're treated," Melody explained.
"We first met because Melody stepped in to save me from some protestors. You can trust her," I defended her.
"She gets one chance. That's it," North threatened.
"North..." Josh pleaded.
"You're lost... Just like the rest of us... We didn't ask for this. All we can do now is deal with it," Simon told me.
"You're safe here. You can stay with us as long as you want. You and the non-Human, non-android," Josh smiled.
"Go and see Lucy. She might be able to help you," North said, making direct eye contact with me, and pretending like Melody wasn't there. They walked off, and I began to explore. I lit a fire in a barrel and a couple androids came over to it.
"Want me to light the rest?" Melody asked.
"What do you mean?"
"The other barrels with wood in them. Do you want me to light them? I can from here," She explained.
"Oh. Sure, why not. It'll prove you're neither android nor Human. It might earn you some trust."
"I doubt it'll go that far, but they'll see I'm not lying," Melody shrugged before muttering a strange word. All the barrels with wood in them immediately caught fire and the androids closest to them walked over to them. I walked around and found an Android near one of the fires.
" I've heard humans are afraid of dying too... Do you know what happens after death?" She asked.
"No... No, I don't..." I answered.
"Well, I'm about to find out... What's your name?"
"Markus."
"I was glad to meet you, Markus," She said before powering down. I looked at her status from before walking away and talking to Josh.
"They threw him out when they didn't want him anymore... He was living on the streets before we brought him here..." He said, gesturing to a little android boy.
"They'll all shut down if we don't find a way to help them..." I said, horror in my voice.

"To help them we need blue blood and biocomponents. We salvage what we can from those who shut down... But there's never enough..." Josh shook his head.
"So... How do they survive?" Melody asked.
"They won't. We're slowly dying out," Josh answered before walking away. I moved on, finding a crate that should have biocomponents in it. I opened the crate to reveal nothing.
Crate Already Emptied
I backed away and scanned the outside of the crate.
CyberLife Warehouse And Docks

Calculating Route
I moved on and spoke to an android that was on the ground.
"I'm not in very good shape, am I?.. My diagnostic program isn't working... I don't think it would have anything good to say anyway... " He said.
"What happened to you?" Melody asked.
"They tied me to the back of a car... I think they wanted to have fun... I don't wanna shut down... No, I... I don't wanna shut down..." He answered. I stood up and made my way into a separated compartment that had an android woman in it. She was missing the back of her head, exposing her wires and her eyes were black.
"Are you Lucy?" I asked.
"Sit down," She ordered and I obeyed. "Show me..." She said, her voice soothing this time and I raised my shirt, revealing my trivial wound. "I'll stop the bleeding." She grabbed a metal rod and held it over a flame before applying it to my wound. "Drink this," She said handing me a bottle of Thirium. I accepted and drank it. I put down the bottle and stood up. "Give me your hand. You had it all and you lost it all... You've seen hell and now hell lives in you... Your heart is troubled... A part of shadow and a part of light... Which will prevail? Your choices will shape our destiny," She prophesied. Neither Melody nor I said anything as we took our leave.
"Simon! I know where we can find spare parts. The CyberLife warehouses in Detroit Harbor, they have everything we need," I said, walking up to him.
"The docks are guarded. We can't just walk in there and take what we want... Humans will never let us..." Simon sounded discouraged.
"Which is why we won't ask permission," Melody spoke up.
"We don't have any weapons... And even if we did, none of us knows how to fight," Josh said.
"We can steal what we need without fighting," I reasoned.
"We'll just get ourselves killed," Josh replied.
"Maybe. But it's better than waiting here to be shut down," I countered.
"I'm with you," North said, stepping out of the shadows.

"Maybe it's worth a try," Simon said a small smile on his face.

"Okay. I'm in," Josh agreed.
