Markus's POV
Being the leader of the Android nation was no easy feat. But then, neither was being married to a Queen of a country on a different planet. When I did see Melody, we were inseparable, until she had to go back to her country. She was currently in Transmonia, finishing up cleaning up from her mother's rein. It's not that Tracy was bad as her job, it was just that because of her OCPD, she had the tendency to work for days, and often times wrote the same doctrine with minor details changed. And since her coronation, Melody had been combining similar documents into master documents. Once that was done, Transmonia would run itself until it was attacked by the Gordanians, a different alien race from a neighboring planet. And once all that was taken care of, Melody was planning on writing a doctrine of her own design that only required her to be in Transmonia for meetings and such. I couldn't wait until it was time to do that.
"Markus, have you gotten anything done since I left?" Melody asked, wrapping her arms around my waist and hugging me from behind.
"A little bit, but I can't help but be excited for you to be here most of the time."
"I'm excited too. But we have work to do here, babe. We gotta do it. We're never going to make progress if we don't draw up plans to submit to President Warren," She told me and I knew she was right.
"Yeah, but we could use a break. Why don't we head over to Carl's house for a visit? Maybe he can give us life advice while we're there?" I suggested.
"I could always go for some wisdom from Carl Manfred. Lead the way. We made our way to the familiar street and knocked on the door. Eric opened the door, looking distraught.
"Eric, what happened?" Melody asked before I had a chance to.
"Carl has passed away. He had a heart attack," Eric whispered.
"When?" I asked.
"About two hours ago. I'm sorry I didn't call you, but I've been trying to arrange everything and-"
"Eric calm down. Take a breath. You've had a rough day. You've been busy, it's ok you didn't call us right away," Melody said, calming the frantic Android down.
"Would you like to see him? He's still in his bed."
"If you wouldn't mind," I said, my voice soft. Eric nodded and led us to Carl's room before leaving us with him.
"I can't believe he's gone," I said finally.
"I've known Carl since I was 5. 21 years he's been my friend," Melody said, starting to choke up.
"I've only known him for 6 years, but then I've only been functioning for that long," I said, memories of the first time I met Carl flashing through my mind.

Markus's POV
"Come on Carl. It's been two years since the accident; it's like you're not even the same person anymore! You've lost your spark for life!" Mr. Kamski pleaded with Mr. Manfred. "At least let the RK200 look after you."
"Alright, alright. I'll take the Android if it'll give you peace of mind," Mr. Manfred gave in.
"RK200, register your name."
"Markus," Mr. Manfred said.
"My name is Markus," I said. "A pleasure to meet you, Mr. Manfred."
