Melody's POV

I had scoured through the royal library all of yesterday and all this morning, seeing if I could find a way that I could do both, rule my country and help Markus with the Android revolution. And so far, I had come up short.

"Dammit!" I cursed, throwing a book across the room.

"What did that book do to you?" My guard and best friend asked, walking into the library just as the book hit the wall.

"It didn't give me what I wanted," I grumbled. "Leo, I have to find some way to both rule Transmonia and help Markus with the Androids."

"Well you've been working on this for over 24 straight hours, maybe you should take a break," He suggested.

"Help me. Please," I begged, my voice and my resolve shattering.

"Melody, you know these laws better than your own mother does. The reason you can't find the answer is because you're looking in the wrong place," He told me, placing a gentle hand on my bare shoulder.

"Where else can I look? We are in the library for the Gods' sakes!"

"Take a breath and close your eyes. Let your instinct direct you," He smiled, and I nodded, desperate to find something. I closed my eyes, taking a deep breath, relaxing in my trust that Leo had my back should I need him. My third eye opened and an old dingy book I had read when I was 13 appeared to me. Laws About Extraplanetary Ruling in Transmonia.

"I know what book I need," I said, my eyes flying open.

"I told you you could do it. You just needed a little push," Leo smiled. I smiled and my eyes began to glow yellow as I selected the book off one of the higher shelves and opened it. I found what I was looking for almost instantly.

"'Any Queen, or King, can perform her/his duties as Queen/King from any planet, so long as there is a Regent figurehead with at least 50% Royal Transmonian blood in Transmonia when the Queen/King is not and so long as the Queen/King spends at least 33 hours in Transmonia a week,'" I read, a huge smile stretching across my face. "Leo, go see if Casey is here," I told him and he nodded, rushing off to mind my cousin. They came back a little bit later and I smiled nervously.

"Casey, do you remember how you said you wanted a reason to not leave Transmonia because you're scared of losing control of your powers?" I asked and she nodded.

"What if I told you there I was way for that to happen for most of the time?"

"What do you mean?" She asked and I explained my plan. If she became my Regent, then I could legally do both; rule my country as well as help my Husband with his people.

"Of course I'll help you. This is perfect," Casey smiled and I nodded.

"Then let's go tell my mom." We made our way to her study and I knocked.

"Come in," She said through the door and my cousin and I entered.

"What's going on girls? What's with the book?"

"I've made a decision. I choose both," I said, setting the book down on her desk and showing her the passage.

"And you agree to this Casey?"

"Yes, Your Majesty."

"Why didn't I know about this book?" Mom asked and I shrugged.

"I found it hiding away a few years ago and figured I should read it. I forgot about it until today."

"Well, then I guess all that's left to do is prepare for the coronation. Melody, go home. You are dismissed," Mom smiled and I curtsied before leaving.

Markus's POV

"Markus, focus," North snapped at me again. I hadn't been able to focus at all since Melody left.

"Sorry, North. I just have no idea when she's coming back and I miss her.

"We all miss her, Markus. But she's an important woman who has things to do. And so do we. Now, come on."

"Now, North, you have to be nicer to him," A familiar playful voice said from the shadows.

"Melody," I breathed relief and happiness flowing through me.

"Hey. I see you missed me," She said.

"What's got you so chipper?"

"Well, I was called home and told I had to choose between being Queen or helping you. I found a way to do both. And my coronation is tomorrow. And all you fuckers are invited. Because nobody can say no to me," She laughed.

"Of course, we'll be there," I said, pulling her close to me, inhaling her calming scent. "What about Carl?"

"I knew I was going to have to be coronated, so his invite was sent as soon as I found out. But I didn't wanna tell you guys until I found a way to do both," She answered and I smiled.

"I'm so proud of you.

Melody's POV

I had been escorted by Leo to my room where Harmony and Adrian helped me into my classic shoulderless dress; a perfect blend of blue and purple. The long skirt had tulle over it and didn't quite touch the ground and my feet could be seen, as well as having a train. There was also an embroidered crescent moon on my left breast. My shoes were the same color as the dress, but they had white flecks on them and the heels were shaped like crescent moons. Harmony placed a tiara on my head, that once again, had a crescent moon on it.

"What am I doing with my hair?" I asked Adrian.

"Long bright red, stick-straight with a side bang." I obeyed and then looked in the mirror.

"Perfect," Adi said, smirking.

"Let's go, Adi. It'll be starting soon," Harmony said.

"See you later, Mel."

"Bye." I stood in front of the mirror until Leo came to get me. And then it was time to shed my old life and begin my new one. My new life as Queen of Transmonia.

I walked slowly toward my mother at the end of the aisle. As I walked, I remembered just how much I hate walking slowly. I hid my annoyance and finally made it to the stage. I kneeled before Mom and she began to speak.

"Will you solemnly promise and swear to govern the Peoples of the Mystmere, Wellspring, Flamemire, Fernmere, Airia, Transmere and of your Possessions and other Territories to any of them belonging or pertaining, according to their respective laws and customs?" She began.

"I solemnly promise so to do," I vowed.

"Will you to your power cause Law and Justice, in Mercy, to be executed in all your judgments?"

"I will."

"Will you to the utmost of your power maintain the Laws of the Gods? Will you to the utmost of your power maintain Transmonia established by law? Will you maintain and preserve inviolable the settlement of the Greek faith, and the doctrine, worship, discipline, and government thereof, as by law established in Transmonia?"

"All this I promise to do. The things which I have here before promised, I will perform and keep. So help me, Gods," I vowed.

"Then by the power vested in me, I pronounce you, Melodonna Luna Firestar, the proud new Queen of Transmonia. Long live the queen!"

"Long live the queen!" The audience repeated. And then they chanted "Long live the queen! Long live the queen!" And I cried with happiness, as my tiara was removed and the crown was placed on my head. This is it.
