Markus' POV

Carl and I arrived home, with Melody in tow. We exited the taxi and walked up to the front door.

"Good evening, Carl. Welcome back," The female automated voice said as we entered.

"That was by far the most boring party I've been to in the last 25 years. Every time I go to one of these, I ask myself: what the hell am I doing here? I hate cocktail parties and all the schmoozers that go there," Carl told us.

"Hey! I am not a schmoozer!" Melody exclaimed.

"Well, it's a chance for all those people who admire your work to meet you," I told him.

"No one gives a damn about art. All they care about is how much money they're gonna make out of it," Carl replied as I hung up my coat.

"Carl, I literally only went to that party to see you," Melody said, stepping in front of him and crossing her arms over her chest.

"And to see Markus," He retorted. A light blush flooded her cheeks.

"You can prove nothing, old man," She said, playfully glaring at him. I couldn't keep my eyes off her. She looked so beautiful when she blushed. Is Carl right?

"Hey, Markus, are you ok?" She asked, pulling me from my thoughts.

"I'm fine Melody," I responded.

"He's just amazed at how good you look, Melody. He can't process it. And with good reason, you look stunning. I'm sure every man in a five-mile radius was staring at you tonight," Carl smiled.

"Awww, thank you, Carl. But I could have done better, this was just something I had in my closet. I think Adrian made me get it a while ago."

"Adrian?" I asked.

"Her sister. They're triplets, actually. Melody is the oldest, and Adrian's the youngest," Carl explained. She smiled.

"Now tell me, what have you been up too?" Carl asked.

"Traveling and writing. And signing decrees left and right. But I spend most of my time in my office writing. I moved back to Detroit about a month ago if you were wondering," She teased.

"I was. You waited a month to come see me? How did you know I hadn't died?"

"I would have known, Carl. And you're kinda important to the art world, it would have been on the news. Everyone would have been so disappointed that they can't make money off of you anymore," She smirked.

"Fair enough. Come on, let's have a drink! All the excitement of this whole thing has made me thirsty..."

New Objective: Take Carl To Living Room

I pushed Carl into the living room, Melody walking next to us.

"Scotch, neat, as usual?" Melody asked before I could.

"How would you know a thing like that?" Carl laughed.

"I know many things, Carl. It's why I'm a writer."

"That's a good point."

"You never answered her question, Carl."

"Oh. Absolutely."

Objective Completed

New Objective: Serve Scotch

"Okay! But you know what your doctor would say..." I said as I made my way to the minibar.
