Markus's POV
"Our broadcast is all over the news... Now humans know..." Josh said, walking over to us.
"It was a mistake to reach out to them. They'll never negotiate with their slaves. We should have shown them that we're prepared to fight," North said, crossing her arms.
"Violence is never the answer. Dialogue is the only way, I'm sure the humans will listen to us," Josh said.
"Probably not, at least not right away. Humans are scared creatures, and you're breaking their norm. But give them time and stay peaceful and we shouldn't lose many people," Melody said as if she had done this before.
"Melody, have you done this before?" North said.
"Yeah. I told you, I'm not from here. Where I'm from we deal with political stunts like this all the time, and typically this approach works the best. There are, of course, exceptions, but I find Humans typically only fight when they feel threatened. If we don't give them a reason to feel like that, they shouldn't attack, not after a bit of time at least..."
"Simon paid with his life..." Josh pointed out.
"Simon gave his life for our cause," North argued.
"What difference does that make?"
"He's a hero! He died for the revolution - and he won't be the last!" North answered
"I don't want a revolution that spills blood!"
"Then live as a slave! Because if you're not willing to fight for your freedom, maybe you don't deserve it!"
"North, don't you dare-" I cut him off.
"THAT'S ENOUGH!" I yelled.
"And now... What are we gonna do?" North asked.
"First, save the snarky attitude for Humans," Melody said, and North glared at her. Melody didn't seem fazed by it.
"There are five CyberLife stores across Detroit. All selling us like merchandise. We're going to attack those stores and set our people free," I answered.
"Attack stores? We've never done that before... They're probably protected, they have security systems..."
"We break into five teams, one for each store. We hack their security systems and we strike... simultaneously at 2AM. No violence. We free our people, get them out of there before the police come," I said, looking at Melody for validation. I could use her experience.
"Put me in where you need me, Coach," Melody smiled.

We split off into teams and made our way to the stores. I had North and Melody with me.
"This is a night our people will remember," I told them.
North led the way to a gate.
"I've been waiting a long time for this..." North said, pulling it open.
"Remember, no violence. Just a lot of snarky comments," Melody replied.
"Markus! This way! Quick!" North said as a police car headed in our direction.
" It's okay... They're gone..." Melody said once they had left.
"There's probably even more police in the area... We should be careful," I told them. We kept going, running through the snow.
