Markus's POV
"Please, North, keep her away from the news and any other media," I begged North to help me.
"The news will be easy, but you expect me to keep her off Facebook and Twitter? Markus, that's nearly impossible."
"I know, but it's just for today. I should be back tonight and by then I'll have asked her and the surprise will be over. Now, please, help me."
"Fine. I'll scramble her phone and laptop right after she wakes up and we'll go do something. Now go. You want to get there early, don't you?"
"Thank you, North. I owe you one," I said, taking off to catch the train to D.C.

Melody's POV
I woke up and groaned, feeling around for Markus, my eyes still closed. They flew open when I didn't find Markus, and not only that, his side of the bed was cold.
"Markus?" I called out.
"He left a couple hours ago. I'm here though, and I'm not leaving your side all day. So, what are we doing?" North asked, leaning against the doorframe.
"Any idea where he went?"
"Nope. He said he should be back tonight though. Now, I'm thinking about spending a few hours at the animal shelter and just playing with the animals. What do you think?"
"Sounds good, just let me pee, get dressed and eat. And take care of Roxy."
"She's outside playing right now."
"Great. Give me a few minutes." I crawled out of bed, grabbed some clothes and headed to the bathroom. Glancing at the mirror, I noticed a note from Markus.
Songbird,
I won't be back until this evening, but I promise tonight will be amazing. I'm taking you out tonight, just the two of us. Please stay with North today, she'll help keep you out of trouble. I'm leaving you this note in here because I know North won't enter the bathroom and the note will stay private unless you decide to share it with her. I love you. Please stay safe and have a fun day. I can't wait to see you again.

Markus's POV
I entered the Whitehouse and was immediately escorted to the President's office, having called in advance.
"Markus. What brings you here today?" She asked.
"Madam President, I would like to move forward with integrating Androids into society."
"Well, our last step does seem to have taken quite well, perhaps it is time to move to the next step. But why couldn't we have discussed that over the phone?"
"I have to admit, my reasons for choosing the next step are... selfish..."
"Go on..." The president said, leaning closer to me.
"It has to do with my relationship with Melody Lupine."

Melody's POV
"Ok North, we played with puppies and kittens, we took a long walk through the park, we window shopped, and we even got me lunch and I haven't been allowed to look at my phone once. What is going on?" I asked, suspicious.
"I just think that maybe you spend too much time online. Isn't it nice to just revile in the world around us?"
"You have a computer in your head," I pointed out.
"You know what I meant," She scowled at me.
"Yeah, but that's not what you said."
"Shut up, Lupine."

Markus's POV
"I think that can be arranged. I look forward to seeing you again Markus," The President said as I stood.
"You as well Madam President. And thank you again."
"Of course. Until next time." I left the Whitehouse with a smile on my face. If only you know Melody. If only you know what I've been up too. I messaged North and told her to bring Melody home and have her ready by the time I got back. Once I did make it back, I headed to Melody's house. I knocked and waited a second before Melody answered the door, showing only her face.
"Why are you knocking?" She asked, the biggest smile on her beautiful face.
"I hear it's the polite thing to do when picking a lady up for a date," I answered.
"That so?" She asked, mischief in her eyes.
"I believe it is. Are you ready?"
"I am," She said opening the door to reveal that she was in a royal purple sweater that hugged her form and had a very low v-cut neckline that showed plenty of cleavage. Her jeans were just as formfitting and she had done her hair so it flowed down past her shoulders in waves. She had a crescent moon necklace with a bauble in the center that held an image of a full moon and she had on some light makeup and black hidden wedges.
"You look beautiful, Songbird," I breathed, drinking in the sight of her.
"Why thank you. Now, where are you taking me?" She asked, stepping outside.
"Why don't I show you?" I asked, taking her hand. I led her to the woods, to the very spot where we had first made love.
"Markus... this is so sweet..." She said taking note of the picnic basket and blanket on the ground.
"I'm just getting started," I winked at her. We sat and talked for hours, laughing and just enjoying being with each other. And then it was time.
"Melody, the last month with you has been amazing. I've learned so much about myself, the most important being that I learned how to love. I can't imagine my life without you in it. Which is why today I found myself in D.C. with the president. I did that so I could do this," I started, getting on one knee and producing a small velvet box from my pocket. "Melody Luna Lupine, will you do me the honor of becoming my wife?" I asked, watching tears stream down her face.
"Of course I will, yes! Of course, I'll marry you," She said through her sobs, lunging at me and holding me.
"Did you really go to D.C. today to move along the Android/Human marriage rights just so you could propose to me?" She asked a minute later as I slid the ring on her left ring finger.
"Yes I did," I smiled.
"Is that why I wasn't allowed on my phone today?"
"Yeah."
"Very nice. I appreciate a well- thought out plan."
"I know you do," I smiled, kissing her. I get to do this forever.
