Markus's POV
I paced in the room I was in, despite the fact I should have been trying to get ready. I couldn't help it; I was excited and nervous about today. Today was finally the day. May 8th, the day I'd make Melody my wife. I was so excited I was finally marrying my best friend; the one person who had always supported me.
"Nervous, Markus?" Simon asked as I finished tying my tie.
"Yeah. Can you blame me, this is the first Android and Human marriage despite the fact Melody isn't Human."
"It's understandable. This is a big deal for the two of you. But relax, the only place Melody is going is down that aisle to you," Josh told me.
"I know, I know. I really do, but I'm still so nervous."
"Wedding jitters. It'll pass. You love Melody more than you love being free," Simon said.
"You're right. I know you are and yet..."
"You're still nervous," Simon finished.
"Yeah."
"Think about it this way. Do you want to call off the wedding?"Josh asked.
"No! Of course not," I said, panicking at the thought of not going through with the wedding.
"Then take a deep breath and relax. Everything is going to be fine," He replied.
"Famous last words," Simon sniggered and Josh glared at him. "What? It was a joke."

Markus's POV
I stood at the altar, looking at the collective faces of Melody's friends and family and my own. It was finally time. The music started and the progression began. Tracy led the wedding party, followed by Carl being pushed by Eric, his caretaker. From there it was Simon and Harmony, followed by Connor and Adrian, and North brought up the rear, Roxy walking beside her. Roxy was our flower girl, with the same flowers the bridesmaids had in their bouquets sewn into a new collar as well as the rings that were attached to her collar.
And then I saw her. Melody; my stunning bride. Everyone turned their attention to her as she walked down the aisle, as they stood. She was in a strapless dress with a pure glitter bodice with a sweetheart neckline. The bottom was all ruffles angled to the left and had some glitter, and it touched the ground. Her veil had an outline of glitter and was attached to a woven silver band that had versions of her wolf ears on top. She looked absolutely gorgeous, and I felt myself get a little choked up.
She made her way down the aisle, holding onto Sam's arm. Eventually, she made it to me, and the ceremony truly began.
"Please be seated," The officiant began and the audience sat. "First, I'd like to begin by welcoming everyone and thanking each and every one of you for being here on this most happy of days. It's no accident that each of you are here today, and each of you were invited to be here because you represent someone important in the individual and collective lives of Markus and Melody," The officiant continued before pausing for a minute. "Dearly beloved, we are gathered here today to celebrate the union of Melody Lupine and Markus Manfred. This union is not to be entered into lightly, but thoughtfully and seriously, and with a deep realization of its obligations and responsibilities. Do you, Markus, take this woman as your wife?"
"I do."
"And do you, Melody, take this man as your husband?"
"I do," She answered, her contacted eyes never leaving mine.
"Then you may recite your vows."
"I, Markus Manfred, take you, Melody Lupine, to be my wife. I promise to be true to you in good times and in bad, in sickness and in health. I will love you and honor you all the days of my life. I take you to have and to hold, from this day forward, for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, until death do us part," I said, feeling an overwhelming amount of love for the woman before me, tears pricking in my eyes.
"And I, Melody Lupine, take you, Markus Manfred, to be my husband. I promise to be true to you in good times and in bad, in sickness and in health. I will love you, honor you, and protect you all the days of my life. I take you to have and to hold, from this day forward, for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, until death do us part," She vowed.
"May I have the rings?" The officiant asked. Roxy walked up to him, the biggest grin on her face as the officiant took the rings from her.
"With this ring, I wed thee," I said as I slid the silver twisted vine band with a Topaz in the center, surrounded by tiny moonstones onto her finger.
"With this ring, I wed thee," She repeated as she slid the thick silver band on my finger.
"I now pronounce you husband and wife. You may kiss the bride." I smiled as I took her chin in my hand and pulled her in for a soft and loving kiss.
"The newlyweds are heading out briefly for photos and will rejoin us shortly. After that, they would love to greet each of you at the reception. You can expect drinks and lunch to follow. On behalf of the newlyweds, thank you for coming."
"Ready?" I asked her quietly.
"To live the rest of my life as your wife? I've been ready since December," She winked and we made our way to the reception.

Melody's POV
As fast as the reception seemed to go, I couldn't wait for it to be over just so that I could be alone with my new husband. I wanted nothing more than to just go. Pick Markus up and run somewhere private. But I knew that I'd regret not enjoying my own wedding reception, so I sucked it up and let the atmosphere around me consume me. All that mattered, in the end, was that I was Markus's and he was mine. We had eternity to show our love for one another, and we had just begun.
