Melody's POV

"What was that about?" I asked, knowing full well that North was pissed Markus had feelings for me and not her. But North didn't know that I knew that, so I had to get her to tell me so we could work this shit out.

"You ruined everything," North repeated her answer from earlier.

"You said that already. What exactly did I ruin?"

"My chances with Markus..." She finally said. Now to act like I didn't already know that.

"You have feelings for Markus?" I asked, faking a confused look flawlessly. North seemed to buy my false confusion. I am far to good at lying to people...

"Yeah, I do."

"Well, that would explain why you've always been harsh with me," I reasoned.

"That, and you aren't an Android."

"You can't help how you're born, North. If you're born... And regardless, are we really going to be that trope where two girls can't be friends even though their personalities match pretty well because they both like the same guy who is only interested in one of them? Because that's not a cliche I'd like to be, but that's just me."

"I don't want to be a cliche, but I can't help how I feel, Melody."

"I know that. No one knows that better than me. And Hell, I'd be jealous too if I was in your position. But it's unfair to all of us to try and change his mind about how he feels. His feelings are just as justified as yours are. I do wish you had talked to me before throwing hands though. I like to know why I'm being hit at."

"Maybe you're right... But I just get... so wrapped up in my own feelings that everyone else's feelings don't seem to exist."

"Trust me North, I understand. And that's something you and I both need to work on. You're driven by emotion, same as I am."

"Yeah... I guess. But seeing you with Markus, it broke something in me. I felt so small and unwanted and then I started telling myself that the two of you probably had a long history and that eradicated any chances I may have had otherwise."

"Markus and I met the day before we came to Jericho. You've witnessed most of our history. And Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned."

"Oh rA9, I'm so sorry for attacking you. I shouldn't have done it... Can you forgive me?"

"Only if you forgive me for making you feel insignificant. All I've ever wanted was to befriend you. You're my kinda people."

"Looking back, I see that. You went out of your way to befriend me and I was a total ass."

"Don't worry about it. It's in the past. But let's try to be friends?"

"I'd like that," North smiled genuinely.

"Is anyone dead in here?" Markus asked, peering behind the door as if he was scared there would be blood splattered everywhere.

"I'm dead inside, does that count?" I asked and North snickered.

"No, that doesn't count," Markus answered, rolling his eyes.

"It should..." I grumbled.

"Agreed," North said, nodding her head.

"Are you possessed? Do you have a virus?" Markus asked, shocked.

"I mean, I don't feel possessed, but that's not saying much," I told him.

"Diagnostic says I'm virus free," North added.

"Do I have a virus? You two don't get along. Melody attempts to befriend you, North, and you say something harsh or say nothing at all."

"Change happens when fists are thrown, Markus. Doesn't matter if we're flesh and bone or plastic and wires, girls will always function the same way," I told him, North nodding.

"We kissed and made up," North told Markus who still seemed confused.

"It was more like a makeout session, but that's not the saying so..." I trailed off.

"This makes no sense to me..."

"And it probably never will," I agreed.

"Ok, well, Simon's back, and I'm sure he'd love to talk to you North."

"When did Simon get back? I thought he died," I said, my joking tone gone.

"I don't know when he got back, but he's with Josh now. And apparently, Connor had him and the other Androids used in the investigation repaired," Markus answered.

"I'll catch you two later," North said, all but running out the door, leaving Markus and I alone.

"This isn't a dream is it?" He asked.

"If it is then we're having the same one. Sorry about the fight by the way."

"Don't be. You held your own as peacefully as you could and you got a new nickname from it."

"Nickname? What nickname?" I asked, confused.

"They're calling you the 'OA'. The Organic Android," Markus chuckled.

"I like it," I grinned, moving in for a hug.

"I thought you would. Are things ok between you and North? Should I be worried?"

"I think things are on the right track between North and I. It'll take time as old habits die hard, but she was right when she said we kissed and made up."

"You didn't actually kiss though... right?" Markus asked.

"No, although she is my type..."

"...What..?"

"Didn't I mention I'm bi? Huh, thought I would have mentioned it by now. Usually, I flaunt it..."

"You did not mention that."

"Relax, I flirt but that's about the extent of it. I'm loyal to a fault, Markus."

"You're going to be the death of me, Melody."

"Probably. Hey, I was going to surprise you and I caught North kissing you. Wanna tell me 'bout that?"

"She kissed me, and I didn't kiss back. And I told her no right after; Melody, I'm so sorry."

"Don't be. I heard her tell you she didn't know how to talk to you, you asked her to show you instead, she all but attacked you when she kissed you, you pushed her off and told her you loved me. That's when I left. Did I miss anything?"

"I thought something had happened to her, and I pushed her to tell me what was bothering her, that was before you showed up. After you left, she mentioned you weren't an Android and asked what I saw in you. Then she stormed off and I assume that's when she started the fight."

"You blame yourself for everything, don't you?" I asked, knowing he did.

"Shouldn't I? I pushed her, she kissed me. I reject her and she started beating you. Her actions are just reactions to my choices."

"Yes, but Markus, North and I might actually become friends now that everything's on the table. This was bound to happen eventually, and it's a good thing. I knew she didn't like me but I didn't realize it was because she was jealous. And you have to admit, North and I have similar personalities."

"You're both stubborn, I'll give you that."

"There's more, but whatever. Anyway, the point is, things are going to get better. I promise."

"I'll hold you to that," Markus whispered just before claiming my lips with his.

"We've kissed, but have we made up?" I asked against his lips once we broke apart.

"I wasn't done kissing you yet."
