Melody's POV
I stood up, noting the crazed look in North's eyes. North took another swing at me and I blocked it, which only spurred her on. Hit after hit she took and hit after hit I blocked. Never once did I ever hit back, she was upset and I understood that. Love makes you do crazy things, and honestly, even if she did manage to catch me off guard she'd never be able to break me. Unfortunately, she didn't tire easily, so we could be at this all day. Thank the Gods I was free the rest of the day.
Markus's POV
I put my fingers to my lips and I couldn't help but feel a bit dirty, like I had betrayed Melody. I'd tell her about this as soon as I could but I still felt bad. I had pushed North, resulting in this whole mess but I was worried. I knew she had a hard past, and I thought something of that sort might have been bothering her. I'd never guess that she'd been harboring feeling for me.
"Markus! Markus, come quick," Josh said, breaking my train of thought.
"What's going on?" I asked him.
"North attacked Melody." Josh looked confused, looking to me for answers.
"She did what?" I asked, mortified.
"Melody was doing small spells, making the kids laugh when North came out of nowhere and started cursing and screaming. Melody asked what was wrong and North hit her, and then kicked her. I don't know what happened after that, I came looking for you," Josh explained and I nodded.
"Take me to them." Josh led me back to where North was throwing punches and kicks at Melody who was blocking each one with ease.
"Eventually, you are going to get tired of blocking me, bitch, and then I'll end you," North spat, venom in her voice.
"I won't get tired for a while. I've been getting into fights my whole life, I can handle this for hours," Melody answered, ducking another hit.
"You can't dodge me forever."
"Maybe not, but you'll get bored eventually. I'm just waiting for that to happen." I had to admit, Melody looked pretty bored defending herself from North, which only infuriated North more. Her hits went faster and harder, Melody blocking each one and never throwing any of her own. It was clear that Melody didn't want to be in this fight, but she wasn't going to stand down either. "It's not in my blood to be number two," She had once told me and it was obvious now that she had meant it. Even I had to admit, I'd have started throwing my own punches by now if someone attacked me after I'd deviated, but Melody didn't. While she seemed bored, she only ever blocked or dodged North's attack. It was impressive, and I couldn't help but feel a bit guilty and proud at the same time. Guilty that this was happening at all, but proud that Melody was sticking to minimal violence. I wondered what it'd be like if she actually fought back.
"He'll grow tired of you eventually," North growled.
"That's a possibility with anyone, and a risk I'm willing to take," Melody countered, unfazed. They continued like this for another minute or so before Melody had had enough. She flawlessly managed to pin North's hands behind her back, pinning her to the ground.
"I've let you hit your problems, but now it's time to calm down," Melody ordered, obviously not taking no for an answer.
"I don't take orders from you," North growled.
"But you do take them from me," I spoke up, walking forward. Melody's eyes met mine, silently asking what she should do next.
"Get her somewhere private and resolve this as peacefully as you can," I whispered to her, kissing her cheek. She giggled briefly, before nodding, forcing North up, and walking in the direction of the office.
"Did you see how easily Melody held her own?" One Android said.
"She looked almost bored," Another answered.
"She tried to be peaceful about it too. It's not hard to see why Markus loves her."
"She's almost like an Android."
"She's our Organic Android! OA for short," An Android laughed and the surrounding Android's agreed. I chuckled, glad to see they weren't upset by North's outburst. More than anything, they were impressed with Melody. I chuckled again. Organic Android? I like the sound of that.
"Well that went better than I could have expected," A familiar voice said walking up to me.
"Simon?!"
"Hey, Markus. I see everything went according to your plan."
"Yeah, it did. But I thought you died?"
"Connor had me and the other Androids he took down repaired. My repairs took a while but I came looking for you guys once I could. Glad to see you've resolved the sexual tension with Melody. Congrats, by the way."
"Thanks. And yeah, the tension with Melody is gone, but I think I caused some with North. And it's entirely one-sided."
"Give her time to cool down. She's hot-headed, but she means well. And aren't you just the most popular guy?" Simon laughed.
"I have no idea how to handle this..."
"Well, I think Melody's taking care of it. She looked bored back there."
"I think she was. And she has no idea why North attacked her," I said, groaning.
"I'm sure they'll make peace. Melody doesn't seem to give in very easily."
"You've never tried to get her out of bed in the morning," I groaned, remembering the daily morning struggle.
"You've gotten her in bed? Well done, Markus!" I blushed.
"Stop," I said, embarrassed. It wasn't a secret that I stayed in bed and watched Melody while she slept since I couldn't, but I still didn't like talking about it. Those moments were mine and Melody's alone; they were sacred to me.
"Don't be embarrassed, Markus. There's nothing to be embarrassed about. She's a beautiful girl and any man, Android, Human, or otherwise, would be lucky to be with her. You've done well. Now, you might want to make sure North hasn't tried to tear said beautiful girl apart in your office. I'm going to find Josh, and catch up."
"Yeah, I'll catch you later, Simon. It was good to see you," I smiled.
"You too. And good luck," He said before walking off. I sighed, before walking to my office, almost scared to enter.
