Ana's POV
Chapter 65
***
Tears poured down my cheeks as I stood, hurrying into the clearing too late. I fell to my knees in the center of the clearing, my mind racing.
Come back!
I knew my mental cry would do no good. He was far, far away.
Well, not that far away.
Ethan had probably taken him back to the castle.
Suddenly, my eyes narrowed in determination. If Eric's at the castle, I'm going to follow him.
My heart pounded and I stood up just as a crack of thunder split the air. The clouds had thickened into something more, and suddenly I felt little droplets of rain falling on my all over. The rain thickened quickly, turning into a downpour in a matter of seconds.
No wonder it's been so hot. It always gets like that before a big thunderstorm.
Through the pouring rain, I caught sight of a flash of lightning, almost inseparable from the deafening crack of thunder that rumbled directly overhead.
I'm coming, Eric.
I'm coming.
